Zangief goes up for PO tomorrow

I have zero idea what the green hand and fireball are from. Was that from any version of SF2? Or a different game?

Does he have a backhand chop maneuver? I didn't remember it glowing, but I haven't played the games in a long while (and never mained Zangief anyway).

That's Banishing/Vanishing Flat, commonly known as Green Hand. It debuted in Super Turbo.

Yeah, it was added to help him deal with projectile spam chip.

He was always the toughest to play. Those grapples and 360s were ridiculous to pull off. Great looking figure! Looking forward to completing the set.

Yeah, you pretty much needed a fighting pad to play as Zangief unless you enjoyed turning your thumb into ground beef. I forgot until now, but I did enjoy using the character in the 3DS version of SF4 because of the thumb circle.

I was genuinely awful as a kid at pulling off any special moves that involved even half circles, so seeing the instructions for Gief's full circle specials might as well have been written in Chinese.

But I had the turbo controller, so button mashing moves like Blanka's or Chun-Li's were no problem

I admit that Zangief was one of my least played characters. It doesn't matter, I will buy this figure with a smile on my face. Maybe I will dedicate this summer to trying to master his moves.

*That's not as effective without the vocal inflection from the movie*

I got my PO in for him. WIll be happy to complete the set (minus Akuma, as I don't need him).
