Jada Street Fighter

Someone put kingpin’s head on Honda’s body, pls!

Cracked open Honda and Balrog tonight from BBTS. Honda was the one I was most looking forward to, but it's a little tougher to maneuver than I expect from this line - the wrap gets in the way of his legs a bit and his torso swivels are a little testy. He looks great though, just not as smooth an operator as the other figures. I was less excited about Balrog but I like him mechanical better than Honda - he can REALLY get into those classic boxer poses . No real complaints about either though - I think some hot water will help E. Honda get there and they'll be right at home with the rest of the line.

E's torso felt like it would break before heat was applied, but moves quite well considering his chonky shape and muscly protuburances around his midsection. I was looking at him, trying to figure out how I was going to apply shock oil to his joints, but the torso gradually got easier to move with some heat and working the joints.

I'm totally in if Jada wants to start a sumo wrestler figure line. E. Honda might be my favorite figure of the year. I need to think about it, because I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, but he might be my favorite figure since the Hot Toys 1978 Japanese Spider-Man I bought around Thanksgiving.

Just thought of something. Jada's version has definitely connected with me more than Storm's version from their first line, who was also a very good figure.

Did you do a heat gun or boiling water? I'd love to get old E. Honda here to be more mobile around the center of his buck but I don't want to break him.

@docsilence I went with a hair dryer, but I can see water being better because it will flow around the joint. He tightened up a little after cooling off, but another round of heat and articulating/moving the joint has him just about perfect.

Looks like the big guy is getting a sauna / bath this evening. Thanks!

I opened Balrog yesterday and I think these two are my favorite Jada SF. I almost hate saying that because it's like newest = best. Jada has made some improvements, like the shoulders, starting with Akuma, so it's not like they're being complacent. I'm moving Balrog's shoulders around thinking the movement of the white t-shirted shoulders looks so freaking good and smooth. Since I've fallen behind on the old Storm SF scaled figures, I decided to check out Anthony's Balrog review from around two years ago. One thing he pointed out was Storm's tendency to have pieces and parts become misaligned...like Balrog's t-shirt. That's when I did the Leo DiCaprio pointing gif.

Afterwards, I put in a preorder for Storm's other boxing figure, Ippo from Hajime no Ippo. His anime and manga is one of those things I've been meaning to seek out because I did love the Victorious Boxers PS2 games.
