Hasbro Made-to-Order Figures

The Sentinel page is back up. Or was it ever taken down? You can't preorder it, though. Also.....$40 price hike.

Trying to absorb some of that tariff change since these units were already produced and some folks ditched their preorders.

I've still got mine locked in despite being on the fence a few times this year feeling like maybe it's too cartoony to fit with my other figures. I'm in for the Apocalypse too (even though I definitely don't have space for him) but I feel like that one will mesh a little better.

This is me exactly. I ordered 3 in 3 separate orders so I could cancel if I decided I only wanted 2. Or 1. But everything I see tells me they are too cartoony. I already have 2 of the Haslabs. Even using one of those as Master Mold doesn't work for me with these because of how different the aesthetic is.

Luckily the card I ordered them with expired in August so they can't randomly charge me and I will have a few days to give FOMO a chance to win out.

I think I'll probably keep mine. I only have the one Haslab so I can use it as a MM or as just a different iteration of Sentinel and it'll work just fine.

On some level the spread of design styles works for me since (brace for extremely nerdy reasoning) I'm planning to put it all into a large Sentinel factory dio and part of that dio I've decided is a time-travel chamber, which justifies Sentinels from different eras, timelines, and such all being in the same place. In my head cannon this is like the nexus of Sentinels across all of spacetime, with Nimrods and Bastions and Master Molds all working together to wage an atemporal assault on mutant kind.

They could all be displayed in a Trask hall of armor like Stark has.
There will indeed be a little of that going on in a couple of different places in my dio. I have some Daiso chain bases that I will be using for the human sized sentinels as recharging stations. There will also be an area specifically for manufacturing Sentinel heads where you'll see a bunch of robot underskulls in a similar setup. It's one of those projects where I've been in the pre-plan stages for a while just sort of deciding on the platform I'll be building it into. Then it's figuring out how much of my total X-Men collection will be part of it. The last step will be the final plan and build which will itself probably take some months.

My hope is I'll get into it some on the 2 weeks off I've got at Christmas this year.

I kicked around the idea of getting a Sentinel when they inevitably popped back up because my X-men 97 lineup has grown significantly since it went live, but that extra $40 tacked on is a deal breaker. I'll stick with the rainbow colored video game two packs.

During one of the London interviews, Dan mentioned that figures are definitely going to be canceled so they'll have some to go up.

I'm assuming that's why the page is back.

I also went back and forth with these and decided that - despite these being the Sentinel design and accurate comic colors I was looking for - I was concerned they'd look too "plastic" or cartoonish. So decided to keep the more shiny and darker prior versions even if less old school.

I hope Hasbro never tempts me with this look/design but in the same colors/shine as the HasLab and Marvel Universe Sentinels...

Are we including Chris Cocks in the lunatic category? Because he's also a big part of it.

Changing prices on products going forward is one thing - retroactively changing established prices on old or already-solicited product is another. I was tempted to get a Storm/Wolverine pack but the old price felt not worth it - so increasing it puts it even farther on the "no money for Hasbro" pile. Same with the Bespin TBS set - I wanted it, it was sold out, and now my only option is $10 more? Nah.

The Sentinel is can see altering since it does cost so much, and all of our pre-orders aren't changing. But regular stock - not okay.
