Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

For lizards I only have the Royal Guard and the KS/Show Exclusive figure which I don't even remember the name/title of. Imperial Sentry, maybe? They're awesome, though. I love them.

I didn't buy it there, but ecollectibles has it. Seems to have the strangehold on Canadian distro.
I never use them, so I didn't even realize they had SC. Well, there you go, @docsilence, 85 CAD gets to notConan if you decide you want it before it's gone.

I used to before they blew up, and I now have my own feud with them, but if it helps people get figures.

Thanks to you I have the dino head lizard guy, Nash, Frazetta, and Jaeger en route. That price, though. If Ana de Armas isn't hand delivering these in a sundress, I'm coming for you.

Hey, I didn't tell you to buy FOUR of them. Don't put that on me.
If Ana does show up, let me know because then I'll be coming.

Why is Jaegar so hunched over? I would've bought him by now if not for that.
Well... there's Elric. A drug-addicted skinny little Albino dude that worships Chaos and has a sword that drinks souls is pretty fuckin' grim.
I tried Elric of Melniboné when they announced the figure. I wanted to love it, but it didn't click with me.
And the Dwarves are coming fairly soon, so you'll be getting your dose of higher fantasy as well. It's happening, whether you're ready for it or not.
Do we know what series 3/beyond looks like yet?

From wave 2 (I have a LOT of their wave 1 lizards via KS and ebay), I bought Frazetta, Who-Man, Krieger, and Nashorn. Haven't opened Nashorn yet. I do really love these. Super solid (as were the lizards) but these are maybe a bit more fluid in movement. Maybe it's just the smooth skin playing tricks on me though.

I was sorta tempted by the Raider accessory pack but I'm not really a fan of the heads. Bald guy doesn't do much for me. And I'm not much of a fan of the helmet on the bearded guy. The armor does look good. If they restock the Raider pack for their next in-stock sale, I may grab it and maybe another Who-Man or Krieger. I initially skipped the lizardmen accessory sets, as I thought they were overpriced. But swapping parts and mixing and matching armor onto different bodies was so satisfying for me. Am hoping to do so with humans down the road. I do want some more interesting heads, like a bearded guy with flowing hair. Who-Man's screaming head is rather awesome, so I'd like more expressions like it, which toylines seem to really missing out on.

I did order a second Frazetta and Jaeger. I know we kinda tore about Jaeger during the KS, but I'm damn-near All-In with this line at this point, so I thought I'd get him. I imagine they'll be reusing his fury body for more characters.

Speaking of more characters and the lack of Slates/Savages for wave 2. Maybe we'll see something down the road. They released another Slate for the lizards after the KS. As well as the albino lizard (which I still need...if anyone visits Savage Crucible at a show and is willing to get one for me, I'd appreciate it). So I assume we'll see some other wave 2 variations in the pipeline.

I am intrigued to see what else they have coming down the pipeline. I think they're going to avoid KS campaigns and just want to release small waves, which are easier to handle, and maintain a somewhat more regular schedule of a few figures continually throughout the year. I know they showed off a dwarf and a goblin, so I'm assuming they'll make those next year. Haven't heard of any potential females, but they must be kicking the idea around.

I think he's just posed that way in pictures - because he's a beast dude and they think it looks cool. I'm 99% sure he stands up straight like every other figure. I've seen customs using his body with human arms and heads and they look totally normal.

I've gotta think there will be more Elrics, so maybe they'll hit up some of his other designs and you'll get something you like that way. They're also doing Death Dealer, but I don't think that's really 'grimdark' because there's no specific story for him.

Do we know what series 3/beyond looks like yet?
Wave 3 is the final wave of figures from the Kickstarter - so that's the fish people and the Cthulhu-Illithid sorcerer guy. They should be shipping end of this year along with Elric and Death Dealer.
They reveal a good chunk of information just by-the-by during their livestreams, but those are very long and I do not watch them. So my info may be outdated but.... I don't think they've announced specific dates for when they'll solicit and/or ship the dwarves/goblins, and they haven't shown any other figures at this point.

But I do know they've talked about all kinds of other stuff. The old Harvinger website, which I'm not sure even exists anymore, used to have a whole giant section for their officially unofficial character designs, including some psychotic-looking evil knights and shit.

And I'm not much of a fan of the helmet on the bearded guy.
It's cool how a line like this can have such disparate appeal. Truly a 'something for everyone.' Because that helmet is one of my favorite things in this line so far. Just a straight-up historically accurate early medieval helmet. I love it very much and wish there was actually a decent body to put it on.

I'm seriously considering separating the helmets/hairs from the heads to do more swapping. Technically it's possible and not -that- difficult. They say it's for people that are slightly more advanced than the 'boil-and-pop' crowd, so I think I can manage. Totally agree that not enough toylines out there are getting in on expressions. Most characters in typical lines just look kind of bored or 'stoic.' I really like how much character a lot of the SC heads have.

Isn't the Albino lizard still available? e-Collectibles (mentioned earlier) has it, and I've seen it available lots on Ali as well. Seems like the official site is the only place you -can't- get it. Haha.

I'm also hoping there's more coming on the human bodies kind of .. between releases, as it were. A blank or two, or something close to being a blank, would be very nice. What I really want is a human in pants. So the Jaeger lower body with either a new upper or the bare human upper with new armor. Something like that would be great.

The saving grace was I'm so used to converting currency, and it was sadly a relief to realize I was already operating under Moose Bucks on their UI.

That helmeted bearded head looks great on the WhoMan body. Colors match beautifully. Likely not historically accurate body armor if that's what you want but aesthetically looks like it was made for that head.

It actually looks really good on the Frazetta Warrior body as well, really. But for a helmet that historically authentic, I'd love a properly armored up, clothed body rather than the fantasy naked barbarian guy.

Thanks for steering me to e-collectibles. I normally don't check Canadian places. BBTS and all the US retail partners for Savage Crucible are sold out of the albino lizard. e-collectibles is cheaper than ordering via Aliexpress. I'm tempting to get the Raider accessory pack as well. It's $10 more expensive than SC themselves, but there's no guarantee SC will get more of it. The accessory pack could lead me to wanting more figures, though.

I understand the appeal of the extra head/helmet design. I just think it's kind of basic. Both of the extra human heads are. They seem more apt for army builder guys instead of distinct characters. And at the price of these figures, army building is a bit of an investment.

I'm liking the chase weapons. Neat idea. There are a few magenta ones which work well with Nashorn and play off the magenta tones on his armor and horns.

The cards are such a weird pack-in. They're fine. But I'm confused why you get a random one and not one for the figure it's included with. Why make them random? Makes no sense to me.

I think this is their concession to the idea of 'rare, 1 of 1000, super ultra collectible blind-packaged' garbage that's out there. Get people talking and chatting about which cards they got and maybe trading cards - which is something they also seem to be wanting to foster. I guess you could say it's a bit of a community building exercise.
Also, there are more cards than there are SKUs in the line, so they kind of have to be at least somewhat random. Honestly... I throw mine away. Couldn't care less.

My only problem with it, really, is that I don't particularly like any of the Wave 1 weapons, which is all they're using right now. I kind of like Ko'Mo's sword for its Conan Father's Sword vibes, but beyond that I don't like any of the weapons enough that I was even planning to keep half of the ones I have from the figures, let alone random weird-color extras.
I could change my mind once they start including more of the weapons I like. But at the same time, I actually do just prefer weapons painted the correct colors of weapons, rather than the translucent blades and gunmetal handles and such. Not a huge fan of that, generally.

I don't disagree. I had the same problem with my beloved HACKS figures. They got up to like 25 USD (so, at the time, like 35-38 CAD before shipping). So even though they were really well-thought-out for army building, it was also kind of hard to do so after a while. And at 80 bucks CAD even with free shipping, these guys are also really hard to justify buying lots of. For the human characters, they definitely need a cheaper option than buying a fully equipped named character.

For the extra heads, I think it's partly just a problem of perception. Those extra heads will always feel like 'extra heads' because the bodies you can put them on already feel like they belong to a specific named character. I don't imagine it would feel like those heads are too simplistic/basic or lack character if any of those were the heads the figures actually came with rather than literally being extras tossed into an accessory pack.

Thanks for steering me to e-collectibles.
All thanks go to @altcunningham because I didn't even realize e-c was carrying the line until a few posts ago.

Sorry, I meant Elric of Melniboné, the first book. I think his designs are great, I just didn't like the story.

To really piss off the over-40 crowd, I tried Conan and didn't like that, either. As much as I love fantasy, almost everything I love was published after 2000. I think the genre leapt forward around that time.

Hell yeah. I couldn't find them on there, but that's encouraging.

Do these scale reasonably well with Mythic Legions?

I don't own any, but going by a few reviews; they're close but I think how well they display together would be kind of character-dependent. I feel like it's not so much the size, but the proportions that set them apart. ML are squatter, with bigger heads. And these are more of a true 1:10 line while ML straddles that line of kind of being an oversized 1:12.

Oooh, I see. Honestly, I really like the first book, but I kind of fell off after that.

I am aghast. The original Conan stories are SO good, I really don't get how anyone can not like them. Please tell me you read the originals and not the pastiche stuff.
