Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

I really only want either of them for the parts to make characters with stuff from the Raider pack.
This is also the biggest reason I bought Krieger and Who-Man. It's a shame they didn't release a "slate" or "savage" to army build the humans with. The cynical part of me suspects that was deliberate to get us to army build the more expensive characters, but their stated reason was that they didn't think they could make decent humans without paint apps the way they did with the Lemurians.

Got my order today, haven't gotten too far with them but like them a lot in person.

The sets with the interchangeable parts, I don't understand why companies don't make it clear with the item descriptions which base bodies the extra calves, arms and heads will match in terms of skin color and what not. I am guessing there are parts for each of the three "savages" in a set but hard to tell for sure.

Wish they would produce some additional army builders. Seems like easy sales to me when they fire up the factory for the next waves.

I imagine they didn't think the extra parts would be overly complicated because each of the original lizard dudes has their own specific color scheme. If you're getting black with white patterns, for instance, it's obvious that it only matches the black with white patterns lizard.

For the humans it's a bit more complicated because you're mostly looking at skin tones. Obviously the black hands go with Nashorn, but it's worth noting that the human skin tone hands (so I'm old) only technically go with Who-Man and Krieger, as Frazetta Warrior has a slightly different skin tone. They didn't look different to me in person, but as I've pointed out many times - colorblind.

I imagine their explanation may have some truth to it but also be an oversimplification: Making a blank human would basically require new forearm, calf, and feet. That's probably the root of the problem right there. None of the existing humans have completely bare arms and none of them have lower legs that don't actually require paint in order to look right. So to offer something with virtually no paint, they'd have to make all new stuff that won't require paint to look good.

Seems minor, so I'm not sure why they couldn't do that. But they were definitely stretched thin on what they were offering as it was, so who knows. I know people love Jaeger (I do not, so take this with a grain of salt), but that figure is all new sculpting compared to the humans. If it were me, I would have put that money into developing a human blank and maybe one more accessory set. That seems like it would have made a lot more sense.

Anyway.. I really want to use my extra parts, but I also really don't want to take apart my Frazetta Warrior, so.... guess I'm stuck not doing it or spending a ton of money on figures I don't technically want.

Ahh - I think I missed that the lower legs/forearms were for the armored Lizards to replace instances where the lower legs and forearms were sculpted as armor, so it is possible to un-armor them to match the skin schemes on other parts of the body.

I thought they were to customize the savage bodies to allow for some variety. But now that I have them in hand makes more sense, might be able to do both. This may entice me to order some more to create some new options.

Yeah - it's almost a shame they're as expensive as they are (in CAD for me, I'm not sure how bad they are for you guys) because they really do offer a lot of options. I have the spare lower arms and lower legs (bare versions) for both of my armored-up lizards and I've just never even really looked at them because I want my lizards armored and I don't have any extras to do change out.

It's like I said above about having all these cool items from the Raider pack that I want to use but really can't, because it requires more figures I don't have. Maybe it's a testament to how good the figures are that I feel like I need extras just to use the spare parts because the base figures are so good I don't really want to take them apart.

Finally got around to opening the Raider/Conquest packs. I immediately went out and bought another Krieger and Who-Man to use more parts. I do really wish we could have gotten bare calves and forearms. It never occurred to me that the scaled calves and forearms in the expansion packs were to make plain lizard people. *smacks forehead* I only bought slates because I want my savage lizard people in sexy loin cloths.

Well, this thread has my hyped for this line. Is direct the best place to get them? Eyeballing Jaeger for sure because I love the beast/man hybrid thing he has going on, but also tempted to get a lizard bloke and/or a barbarian since the barbarians I have haven't quite scratched that itch. (I think Frazetta Conan will when he ships, but I wouldn't mind him having company.)

I don't know of anywhere else you can pick these up for retail. And I wouldn't wait too long on the barbarians, they're down to seven Warriors and Krieger's already sold out. Looks like you're ok on Who-Man, though.

Weirdly, BBTS had Jaeger for the same price as direct, so I just added him to my POL since I have that Vega Street Fighter figure from Jada processing any minute now, save on shipping there.

Who-Man doesn't jump out at me as much as the other two. Kinda curious about the lizard fellas too but I don't want to go 150 bucks deep until I can at least get one in hand.

So I went in hard on the savage crucible kickstarter, and so glad I did. I did all in with extras of a few figures to use with the accessory sets (I think the figures were $36 each IIRC).

It's pretty much become my favorite figure line. The original Lemurian feet and now loose ankles being the the only negatives I have to say, but thankfully those are fixable (already fixed on the lizard dudes 🤘).

I threw who-mans head and the raider armor on an extra Kreiger! I put Nashorns helmet on Who-Man with the alternate "horns" (or whatever you would call them), and tan alternate helmet on Nashorn, and I'm really digging the look.

Don't sleep on Who-Man guys! That figure may seem bland from online pics and such, but in hand he has an incredible presence and just draws the eye in a display.

As I said above -- the Frazetta Warrior figure is one of my favorite action figures that I own, across all lines. If you have a chance to grab that for retail before it disappears; do yourself the favor. The only place I know of right now to get it for retail is the official site, though. Shipping to Canada kind of fucking sucks, but I have no idea how it is within the US. Probably fine.

Once this line moves away from sword & sorcery and toward high fantasy or grimdark, I'm in real trouble.
Well... there's Elric. A drug-addicted skinny little Albino dude that worships Chaos and has a sword that drinks souls is pretty fuckin' grim.
And the Dwarves are coming fairly soon, so you'll be getting your dose of higher fantasy as well. It's happening, whether you're ready for it or not.

Looks like Frazetta Warrior is gone on their site, but I did secure a Jaeger from BBTS, who was my main want. The two named lizard dudes look pretty slick though and really, I've got nothing in my collection that scratches that particular itch at all.

I didn't buy it there, but ecollectibles has it. Seems to have the strangehold on Canadian distro.
