Ghostbusters General Thread

It’s been so long since I actually had the Plasma series I didn’t realize how much bigger the Mondo figures are when compared to them.
Yeah, I never purchased the Plasma series because they were so small. Seeing them next to Mondo's means they have to be on opposite sides of my upcoming Ghostbusters display. Granted I was already planning to put them on opposite sides of the Haslba Ecto, but this just solidified that thought to 100% done deal.

That’s exactly what I am going to do too.

Pete and Samhain arrived today. I'm glad I'm not an in-box guy because the box was pretty beat up. Oh well. I'm just going to echo what most have already said. The sculpt and paint are fantastic. The detail work, especially on the proton pack, is just so well executed at this scale and there's a very animated look to these guys. The articulation though is pretty much shit. Elbows, wrists, and ankles are fine, but the knees, hips, head, and waist are pretty basic. The little butterfly they tried to integrate basically doesn't do anything. Nothing is stiff or loose though so that's good, though Samhain's limbs are a little close to being loose. I'm hopeful that doesn't degrade over time. He also can't really do much. Slimer looks great, but the arms just swivel. I'm surprised they didn't at least work a hinge in there.

The price obviously is what it is. This set isn't worth $202, but it's still possible to be happy to have it even if it costs too much. I wish there was more in the box. More hands for Pete, another expression, extra arms for Slimer and a taller stand. I do worry a little about the hard plastic components on the proton pack, in particular the holster for the wand which I'm almost terrified to interact with. Definitely do not put this guy near the edge of a shelf, though he seems plenty stable. Samhain will never topple. As autumn approaches, I'll have to find a place to display these guys for the season and then when it's over decide where to put them for the rest of the year. I don't really want to return them to the box so I'll have to get creative.

I figured I'd toss some pics in since we're light on them. It is a fun set, despite the flaws. One thing I'd like to see included in a future release is an open trap effect without a ghost. Or just make the ghost removable (Samhain is glued in). And since we only have the one buster so far, I had Slimer pitch-in with the trap which made me wish they had made the diameter of his stand hole the same as the trap button so he could plug-into it.

The Ecto-Glow Real Ghostbusters are now In Stock and ready to ship on Hasbro Pulse if anyone still wants them. Also, thanks for sharing your pics Misfit. That set looks great. So well done, and well painted. And they look great amongst your other Cartoon related figures.

We were just talking about a guy with two of them the other day in the GI Joe thread but who knew existing among us here on Articulated Thoughts was a guy with THREE peters.

I currently have 4 (regular Plasma series, Afterlife version, DST movie & Mezco One:12 movie) soon to be 5, as soon as BBTS ships the Mondo version. :p

I have so many Peters it's ridiculous! I don't even know what to do with all these Peters. All the Mattel Peters (figures and Retro dolls), all the Kenner Real Ghostbusters Peters, DST RGB Peter, Funko Peters, Hasbro Plasma young and old Peters, Hasbro Afterlife kids line Peter, and if they'd hurry up and ship my Peter, I'd have a Mondo Peter in my hands.

I guess I should add that not pictured are my Lego Peters, O-ring Peter, and one Fright Features Peter that escaped a few yard sales and managed to remain in my possession, but that’s it. I think I’m okay with my volume of Peter.

This has really turned into a Peter counting contest hasn't it? It's not about who has the most Peters though, it's about how well you display what you've got.
