Received the Target black-suit Storm and Weapon X 2.0 figures from Target today. The face on Storm is better painted, likely due to digital know-how. The hair DOES have a wash, so it's not blank white plastic like the promo images show. It's pinless which is nice, the cape is a total folded wreck though. If ever there was a Storm in need of a 3rd party cape this is it as it just looks like a gold outlined table cloth she's mounted to her back. She does come with 6 overall hands though, so more than Rachel Grey can claim. And the electric tipped fingers are much improved over the previous "melted candybar" fingers look that the Thunderbird 2pk Storm suffered from. Overall okay figure, does the job. Sticking the short haired training suit 3pk head on her soon though for a more Portacio early 90s look.
Weapon X 2.0 is decent, his heads are kinda big which draws attention to just how short and naked he really is. The wires from the waist gear have cuffs that come off when you take off the hands and there's a wire to the headset that unplugs and replugs for either face sculpt. My unmasked Logan head's face print is a little off so he looks a little more Italian / Stallone-like that I'd like, but I was going to keep him in the helmet anyways. The chest harness is NOT snug and shifts around quite a bit. The digital printing for body hair looks good though and I like the splayed out hands with the claws extended for more "agony" poses suitable from the 90s and his time in the Weapon X program.
Overall these are both decent pickups if you don't have the previous ones. If you do, you may want to pass if you're trying to save money. I can't say either of these are have-to-haves, but I'd say most X-fans will find them acceptable as redo's. Personally I have to wonder when Hasbro realizes if they release a Weapon X figure WITH A CHAMBER to put him in, he'll probably be a lot more desirable to have. But this is a decent Barry Windsor Smith tribute for those that like that book.
