Yeah, or that’s what Bobby Vala claims. He did a video about it earlier this year.

Those Prime Sentinel figures were so nice, too, but giving you two heads for one body in an item THAT exclusive is criminal. I'd love to see an army builder there, especially if I can use my spare male sentinel head on one for variety. (Or if the fem body will support reuse of some of those other army builders like SHIELD/Hydra)

I don't believe thats entirely accurate. - or at least Larsen isn't clogging things up. There's an interview with Bobby Vala (i know, so take with a grain of salt), but he says he pushed for Cardiac to be in several waves of Legends but Marvel told them no. His speculation - and this is guesswork on his part - is that Marvel didn't want to pay a royalty to Erik Larsen. Marvel doesn't need Larsen's permission to use the character - they've put him in books in recent years. Its just that if they make merchandise of the character they have to pay a royalty to Larsen and Marvel doesn't want to.

Hopefully we get to a point where Marvel relents.

I also feel like this is a thing I remember hearing going back a long way - like, a decade or more. I never knew if it was anything more than rumor or speculation. Marvel is famously greedy with its IP and doesn't share rights with creators, going way back (which sucks, obviously). I wonder why it would be different with Cardiac and Erik Larsen?

May 2025, but he’s reflecting back on his time at Hasbro so whenever that ended. It’s on his YouTube channel.

 
I agree... I always thought that sounded suspicious. But Cardiac's disappearance from comics for 20+ years and total lack of merchandise in the 35 years since his debut seems suspicious.
 
Would anyone be up for another go at the X-Men in their First Appearance Uniforms? I don't want a rerelease as those figures were truly terrible, but those looks are a huge hole in my X-eras - I sold off my set years ago but kept the box, which I am now ripping the front flap off of to save space on my shelf, hence why this is on my mind. :)

I have my OG ToyBiz boxset crew in a different shelf/collection for *some* representation, but as much as I don't want a lot of re-releases, Hasbro technically hasn't done these looks since the one they released was All-New. Or were those outfits all the same? Either way, is there general interest in getting these looks again?
 
I would love a modern redo. Cowl up and down options for those who have them. That set aged like milk.

I will also plead for the O5 in their time traveled looks from a decade back. That Jean in particular is too cool to waste.
 
I think its inevitable we get one. I think they need to release a human Beast first... but an original training costume 5 is needed and is a good recoop of costs on Angel's wings and the non-furry Beast sculpt. The set would probably be $150 but I'd buy it for sure.

I would buy Human Beast at least 3 times over in the training suit, in the graduation costume and in an X-Factor costume, either blue/red or orange/yellow

Likewise with Angel... training suit, blue and white (Uncanny 169), and X-Factor red/white. I'd honestly buy the graduation suit too as awful as that yellow shirt, blue pants, red suspenders look is I still want it.
 
I'd be down for both the O5 (feels like I dodged a bullet NOT being able to get that boxed set I tried to buy for a long while) and the time traveling looks really were cool, especially Jean. Hasbro would get me for both for sure.
