Elsewhere, I saw this led to a discussion of how the male gaze and female gaze aren't even proper terms because everyone has different responses and tastes and I was surprised to see such an eloquent discussion on the topic of sexualization and objectification.

And that's how I know something is really shifting in the spheres because it's like the 10 thing I've seen in the past few weeks where the expected response was not what I got, in an intriguing way.
 
So I got Enchantress and the Starfox/Champion of the Universe 2-pack today from Amazon.ca. They had coupons that made them really cheap compared to Canadian retail.

First. Enchantress is pretty nice and a welcome update to go with my Thor sub-collection (C'mon ML team where are my Simonson ear designs and the Warriors Three?) [and Balder, and....,and......,and....). So now I am 1/3 of the way to finishing the Executioner BAF (have Warbow). I will say I am not liking Enchantress' buck. It feels a little old school (like Toybiz Scarlet Witch). Also I'm not a big fan of the massive hair. I would have preferred a slicker hairstyle, or an alternate head with a different hair style.

Starfox is a great representation of the 80s look I remember well. Champion though is my big want from the 2-pack. PLEASE ML team give us more comic Elders of the Universe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the Champion because he looks exactly how I like him (80s design). I'm trying to place the mold. It looks like a combination of the 2-pack Drax (which I missed and now have to hunt down) and maybe a Hulk buck? Either way I love having him in the collection and he and Starfox are now part of my Marvel cosmic sub-collection.
 
In what way does Enchantress feel like Scarlet Mitch? Her legs are sturdy, her arms aren't spindly, her face isn't freckly and she's not shaped like a limp noodle. Feel the way you feel, I'm just curious. :)

But speaking of, I'll take this opportunity to say: It is WELL past time we get a modern Wanda in this line! And I will preemptively say The Crossing does not/will not count.

I'm going off memory of when I had the Toybiz Scarlet (Mitch, HA.. 😜) Witch. It has been a while, but sure she is a better build overall comparatively, but I can see her being an issue down the line like the Yelena Black Widow (comic) figure. That thing was a nightmare after only a short time and I was glad to be rid of her and her warped legs and weak-ass design. I'm not saying Enchantress will be the same, but upon first handling I feel like she could be in a couple years.
 
Heads-up for anyone waiting on the Target Diamond Emma - she's sold out on the website now and hitting clearance in-store. Grab her before she's gone!
 
Well, I got Retro Falcon and it's... a toy I now own. Seriously the wings are sort of fiddly to angle right, Redwings crotch clip is terrible looking, and the figure is just.... I dunno, there. He'll go on the classic Avenegrs shelf and slowly gather dust.

On the other hand, the Aaron Davis Iron Spider is much BETTER than i expected. The glossy black to make an "armored" look works better on the black than the red. He has a new head, which I didn't expect, and a new chest and back, which I knew about but looks good. So all in all Im quite pleased with him! I hope we get some more of Miles villains in Legends.
