General Marvel Legends

Does this figure have an ab crunch? I sold the BAF ages ago cause I found it frustrating, and I would have sworn it was solid through the midsection...

Here he is standing straight up, hindered by the lab coat

Had to open Lizzie in the car because he came just as we were leaving the house to go to a show. It’s a long drive, and there will be much warring between the species, because I just happened to have a Cobra Deinonychus on hand as well.

Chomp chomp chomp

So I was watching Displaying Model Behavior’s video on the top 100 Legends figures that never made it to store shelves and it was all about products that were solicited, prototyped and even went into production, just to be scrapped at the 11th hour. And there was one crucial set of figures that he completely ignored, in fact they were all part of the same wave.

And now I need your collective help to have my claim validated because I distinctively remember this series but I never saved any pics at the time. So this wave was supposed to be a part of the Spider-Man classic assortment. I believe it was supposed to be wave 14 or 15 and was supposed to come out in Spring 2006, so right around the same time as the 12” Icons figures and the Face off 2-packs.

The wave featured a Ben Reilly Sensational Spider-Man styled after the late Mike Weiringo’s artwork, a War Journal Punisher, a 90’s Armored Daredevil, a black costume spider-man based off the early designs by Ron Frenz when the venom logo looked more like Julia Carpenter’s design, A member of the Enforcers (I think it was Fancy Dan) and finally a Tarantula figure.

The prototypes as far as I’m aware were only showcased at a comic con in the UK (Possibly MCM) and Figures.com provided some pictures. This was before that website split into AFD. I never saw the pics again after that. But unfortunately due to Toy Biz loosing the license, the wave was dropped entirely and never saw the light of day. Does anyone else remember this wave? Is it ringing any bells for anybody?

I have zero memory of that specific wave, especially of any member of the Enforcers ever being shown as a prototype. That's the kind of thing I think I would have held on to even 20 years later - I'm still lamenting the lack of Forbush Man and X-Babies.

I’m not making this up. It was a blink and you’ll miss it type of reveal. God damnit I wish I saved pics from that wave. Hopefully one day I’ll be vindicated and pictures will turn up.

This does sound oddly familiar SS. I know that I would have been excited about the armored Daredevil. The others also are softly ringing a bell. This isn't a confirmation, but let's hope that all hope is not lost.

Wait. No one should be saying "I cant wait to see the SDCC exclusives" it should be "I dread seeing the SDCC exclusives"

Nah, it’s all good from outside the US. Fan sites or Pulse get a decent allocation and we do ‘t tend to struggle. I’m about ready o buy something, as the last few fan streams have been slim pickings.
