General Marvel Legends

Pretty psyched about these. I was not a fan of the previous Juggernaut and this one looks to be a big improvement. They could have easily re-released the old one but I'm glad they didn't.

Wish they had made Silver Samurai pinless to at least make this a notable improvement.

And we've still got those pinned legs on Venom...I hate being a stickler about it, but if you're going to make an improvement across the line, don't half-ass it.
 
It looks like they guessed at which set would be the least desirable and gave it to Walmart.
 
Random thought but I really wish we got a palette swap of Cap. Like the minty green version from MvC2. Something, anything to make it look different on the shelf than all my other recent Caps.

While it is quite impressive, I am concerned with the material with which they are constructed. From my experience, there's a diminishing returns effect inherent with bendy-wire appendages. Usually, the thicker they are, the stiffer they are; effectively reducing poseability.
Shuma-Gorath's tentacles seem to defy that, suggesting they may be constructed from a softer material similar to that from Maximum Hulk's squishy chest?
When I look at the image of him posed on his back looking upwards, I see peculiar dramatic kinks where the tentacles seem to fold instead of bend. Also, I rewatched the stream and neither Dwight or Dan actually bend the bendy parts --which one would expect them to do.

EDIT: I just saw the official pics over on marvelousnews.com and in a couple of those SG vs SS shots you can definitely see some wonky dimples and folds in those tentacles. Hmmm.

What even is "Mainline" when there is only one Mainline release?

Also, I guess props should be given - no new characters were locked behind a two-pack paywall. The only new character got his own box all on his own. Probably for the same cost as a two-pack, but that is a lot of plastic and the eyeball is well-executed.
 
I hate that Juggs still has ball joint hips and not keen on the textured torso. And the single jointed arms on Wolverine feel like an unnecessary step backwards. There's no way they have the same range as the double jointed ones. Frustrating choices.
 
Now that high-res pics confirm Silver Samurai is all new outside of the arms and legs, I don't feel bad getting him and Wolvie at regular price, provided no crazy price hike.

So, I'm not even sure if the hips are technically ball joints on Juggernaut or even Rhino - they are more like the typical hip joint but the massive thigh actually overlays the hip piece. Sort of like they do with some of the Iron Man armors. The range of motion on the Juggernaut and Rhino are definitely up to Legend standard, and don't have the quirks of an actual ball joint. I think the last Legends releases that had the shitty ball hips were maybe Ares and that BAF Sandman they re-released in the Vault set.

For Wolverine, I just went a checked my other releases. The new Astonishing doesn't get much more bend than the Gamerverse one because of the size of his bicep. All the other standard ones were similar, with the Love Triangle having the worst, and the brown/tan having slightly more, but nothing significant.
 
Just Gargantos for me. That's fun and new.
Probably mcu Thing as he and Spidey are my favorite heroes.
Maybe the rest of the mcu FF down the road if I like the movie.

The rest? While everything looks nice, I'm tired of buying the same characters to get a new look or better articulation. Even more tired of characters I want saddled with another character I don't want. Someone mentioned that all of us who wanted a new complete shield for Cap would be happy now. Nope. Not at all. I'm not down for paying for a 2 pack just to get the shield we should have gotten 2 or 3 times with other releases. Just not doing that anymore. Fun reveals. But I'm saving my money for mostly new characters these days.

Not to mention, it's still just another cheap clip-on shield. I will never be happy with a clip-on shield. I want a Cap with a shield that has a strap to hold (like the MCU figures), that has a ball peg chest, and butterfly joints. Ideally with scales on his chest, but honestly, if they could nail those three things, I'd happily buy any deco.
