General Marvel Legends

I'm hoping the way they handle Magma is an individual release of her powered-up Magma form with a depowered Amara Aquila head as a pack-in. Could work for Sunspot as well.
I've been holding on to an unopened Dani for just this possibility. Annoyingly, Magma had short sleeves in that look, but, hey, Wolfsbane didn't exist at all in that look, and that hasn't stopped me from displaying a Dani with that head pack-in.

I'm really excited about getting more 80s New Mutants, but I'm also a little sad that it would seem to make a Sam/Doug/Berto pack in the matching look from the Zeb Wells run much less likely. That would have been such an easy, brainless money-maker for Hasbro, especially after they saw how gaga people went for the Dani figure.

One small thing that gives me some hope about Sam and Doug being on different bodies is that both of their heads are featured on the card art. I don't think they've ever promoted a pack-in alternate head that way before.
It's entirely possible that they're each separate releases, but--if they're not--hopefully they're on a Sam-sized body, since we already have an X-Men '97 Berto that's still a little too tall for him and Doug, but could at least be used as a better fit for the Doug head than a second Cannonball. I know the colours likely won't match, but who are we kidding? That's a distinct risk, regardless.

I think that's what happened. According to the official stats, Sam is 6'0, Doug 5'9, and Bobby 5'8 but most modern art depicts Sam and Bobby as the same height, or with Sam just a hair taller.

Exactly. I wouldn't balk if they did modern outfits with just a head swap between them. But the size difference matters for the OG team since they were all teenagers.

And hey, how about including a Warlock skateboard for Doug somewhere in there? Please and thanks.

Since Hasbro obviously love capitalizing on those nostalgia feels, here's a profitable idea for a fun sub-line: "Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe". I think it might be a really cool way to get us iconic renderings of some of the more obscure characters yet to be produced. Plus, now that the 3.75 inch line has gone extinct, the "Marvel Universe" title would be idicative of the sub-line's modus operandi of showcasing one-off characters from the wider spectrum of Marvel lore that are difficult to shoehorn into the current platforms.
-> First off, every figure is posed in the blister plastic exactly like the handbook or basically, boring by default. Maybe even design the packaging box with a 2nd window in the back and a 3rd on the left side so you get the three standard viewing angles? Just a thought. If not, definitely have the police line-up height ruler printed on the interior cardboard.
-> Exterior packaging designs include all the bullet point specifications for the particular character and a brief write-up.
-> Maybe each wave could have alphabetical themes like, A-D, E-H, I-L, etc.? I dunno; that might not work well. Again, just a thought.
-> Include alternate portraits when applicable, along with all the usual bells & whistles.
-> Obviously distribute via fan channel or Pulse exclusive, as A-listers shall not be included in this line.
-> And as a unintended bonus, to the delight of @RichardSimmonsRobot, everyone gets knife hands!! Lol

But seriously though Hasbro, please send the profit royalties checks to L. Silverback, City Zoo, Gorilla Enclosure.

I've thought about this many times. That would be a dream line for me.

I kinda like that idea, but I think it appeals more to comic readers of that era. Most of the nostalgia grabs they’ve done have been toy themed. Secret Wars recreates the toy packaging. Same with most retro card lines - Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Ghost Rider, upcoming Hulk (based on Abomination package). VHS packaging for animated series. They haven’t really used actual comics as a theme, ironically. They even recreated trading card designs with Death’s Head and Super Skrull!

Well I just absolutely love this idea.

Falcon is well done and must have. Don't like the black deco on Daredevil but will probably pick him up. Absorbing Man with no "absorbing" power effects? Clearance only. "Maximum" Thor? More like moderate Thor. Love the wired cape but no spinning hammer effect? This figure is only worth $40 tops. Will get Onslaught on clearance.
