G.I. Joe Head Canon & Fanfic Filecards

Agreed.... I kinda wanted to get the him and Mercer set and have him on the Cobra shelf and this reinforced that damnit.

Excellent addition, and I appreciate that it's still somewhat ambiguous where his true loyalty lies.

Oh snap! as the kids say.

I kind of expected if any Joe was gonna turn, it would be the pro-wrestler with a history of turns. And it does make sense to me that, even in the idealized version of good guys vs. bad guys this version of Joe represents, SOMEONE would be where a lot of real military personnel are mentally: "serve whatever/whoever is in charge."

Sarge actually offers a good spot for both "serve whoever is in charge" and also "I've got bills to pay and you expect me to do something brave?" His history of becoming the bad guy made him almost too right for this role. IRL it'd be someone like him up on stage wearing the newly branded uniforms the administration would produce on the taxpayer dime.

Totally agree. Your instincts on this one were spot on. I don't know if I would have had the guts to basically say G.I. Joe's Captain America turned bad guy, but it was the right call. Sad fact is, this version of Sarge basically is almost every person in a high-ranking military position right now today. It makes sense that someone in this world would represent that.

Also... do I need desert-gear Sarge? That seems like it would be the Disavowed Sarge.

Desert Gear Sarge definitely has a more "just following orders" vibe than his "what he wishes he looked like as a pro wrestler" original look, fer sher. Even the fact that he comes with a handgun that screams "making up for something" leans into it.

Character weekend goals:
Croc Master
Slice & Dice
Mutt & Junk

Any other requests in case inspiration doesn't strike for these guys?

Solid choices.

I noticed going over the list and basing on your original idea of wanting to do characters that already have figures, you haven't done Metal-Head yet. That guy covers his fucking body in rocket launchers. How can you not want a piece of that insanity?

No joke I was just staring at that figure the other night going "where does this absolute lunatic fit into the story?" I was scoping out Scrap iron too, but I feel like Scrap Iron is coldly dangerous and monstrous whereas Metal Head is absolutely fuckin bonkers.

I feel like your gut instinct there is correct because, again, the guy has rocket launchers strapped to his body. I don't even know how you make that work here.

I love how somehow Metalhead strapping rocket launchers to his body is clearly unhinged but Heavy Duty is wearing a tactical Oscar the Grouch can and it somehow feels if not realistic at least reasonably functional.

Code Name: Mutt (and Junkyard) (Disavowed)
File Name: Perlmutter, Stanley R.
Primary Military Specialty: Dog Handler
Secondary Military Specialty: Infantry
Birthplace: Iselin, New Jersey
Rank: SP-4

Subject caused significant havoc when the remaining GI Joe Unit members were escorted off the base - his dog mauled two Lewis administration agents and Perlmutter himself bit at least one agent himself. When agents went to put the dog down, several other Joes interjected themselves in the line of fire - the agents made the correct call to not turn their guns on human troops, and both Perlmutter and his canine escaped the base. Lewis himself ordered that no further action be taken against Perlmutter or his animal, as his words, the administration was prepared for backlash with dismantling the unit, but did not have the PR clout to defend shooting a dog the first week in office. Despite the violent outburst in the initial disbandment, Perlmutter appears to have retired to his home state and does not appear to be engaging in subversive activities at this time, though standard surveillance remains in place.

"We all knew it was going to happen, but man, seeing it in the moment was still wild - Junkyard nearly got Mutt killed, and Mutt nearly got the rest of us killed. They're both lucky to be alive. But seriously, who thinks kicking a Rottie is a good idea? And Mutt's even meaner than Junkyard. Those agents are lucky they only needed stitches. Anyway, Stan growled and stomped all the way back to Jersey where he used his retirement money to buy an old scrapyard. Junkyard's Junkyard. I kid you not. And we thought he was crazy - well, crazier than usual, til he told Clutch - you guys are gonna need a place to stash your gear, right? So yeah, Junkyard's Junkyard is also Hawk's Secret Stash. We've got a working HAVOC buried under old car doors and fenders, an AWE Striker hidden behind a row of broken refrigerators, a Sky Hawk we're trying to get airborne under a tarp. And all the while, Mutt and Junk are patrolling the perimeter like always, making sure nobody gets in, and gawd help anyone who tries..."
