G.I. Joe Head Canon & Fanfic Filecards

I've been reading all of these but not commenting, but that Big Boa entry making him a Joe Rogan type was so clever. So many of these are just really clever. I've never had a gift for fictional writing, so I truly admire what you're doing here, @docsilence. Super creative stuff that hopefully Hasbro will start to notice. I almost want you to revisit older ones like Shipwreck (who's one of my favorite characters) to do him more justice (though I have no idea or suggestions on how to make him stand out more, or maybe the point is for him to not stand out?)

Big Boa as a podcaster was definitely inspired by a joke in the main Joes thread but it works so well since he wouldn't have much to offer from a "legitimized" Cobra perspective. Made myself laugh too much with the show name.

I'll probably go back and tweak some later on - I usually get an idea and totally freeform the writeup, bang it out in 20 minutes or so and see if it works and if it feels like one of Larry's old cards in tone of voice, etc. It's a fun challenge.

I just noticed that Big Boa tangent, it was like four pages so I didn’t read all the way through. Still a clever and unexpected take on the meathead character.

I gotta go back through so I can note my favorites. Loved Flint’s entry.

That would require them to admit they're actually punching down and not the victims they pretend to be.
Yeah but like... ~gestures broadly~
They already do perpetually play the victim -while- also being proud of bullying people. 'Make the libs cry!' All that stuff.

Code Name: Recondo (Disavowed)
File Name, LeClaire, Daniel M.
Primary Military Specialty: Infantry
Secondary Military Specialty: Intelligence
Birthplace: Wheaton, Wisconsin
Grade: E-4

Subject is one of several "lost Joes," members of the GI Joe Unit who were deployed on specialized missions on foreign soil at the time Rexford Lewis took office who never came home. All communication with LeClaire has been cut off, and surveillance teams have not been able to confirm or deny he is still alive. His pension is being paid in full on the presumption he has been cut off from returning to the U.S., but it is this office's opinion that the man has either quit the world or been killed in action.

"Recondo was engaging in a covert operation in Sierra Gordo when everything went bad. Flint was able to reach him by sat phone and asked him if he needed extraction. Recondo just grunted and said 'I'm where I'm supposed to be.' We thought he was going full jungle man, y'know? Couple of us expected Recondo was going to wander off into the jungle and become a cryptid. But a few weeks later we get word he's working with Sierra Gordo guerrillas picking off soft targets for Cobra's 'unofficial' forces, antagonizing the hell out of Cobra Commander - he can't address the attacks without acknowledging he has a vested interest in the Cobra army, so he's just gotta sit in Washington and take it while he loses men and equipment in the jungle. If you're going to leave a man to die... don't do it on his home turf."
