Absolutely foreshadowing. I waited to post him because I thought he might be working with someone like Scrap Iron or another person who just wants to watch the world burn, but I didn't want Scrap Iron to just be a part of someone else's story (Cobra doesn't have enough classic named characters to do that, I reckon).
 
Definitely agree. And yeah Scrap Iron always seemed like he had some crossover traits or what have you with Firefly but I'm glad you're keeping them separate and I'm sure you'll have a great take for him too.

I'm really mulling over how to make them different. I had the same issue with Recondo and Outback - I want to do the same thing with them but make it unique. I think Scrap Iron is more loyal, too, like he'd have a vested interest in staying with Cobra but Firefly has always been a leaf on the wind, if that leave was flammable.

That's a good point. He's a Destro recruit. So where does he fall if Destro and CC have a falling out?

Yeah, I agree, but the fun part about telling a story like this is we can actually create a reality in which people are smart enough to realize they're being lied to and act accordingly. (I'd love a big plot point to be Firefly being caught or exposed and Lewis needing to scramble and disavow him as well, making another dangerous enemy.)

Man... I could see him going either way, but maybe he stays with CC and does some horrendous shit, while actually being a Destro plant.

Then his propaganda team put out a bunch of proof that Firefly was always a member of GI Joe, heh.
 
Wait...does Firefly have the Epstein list? Is Cobra Commander on the list? I feel like Dr. Mindbender definitely is.
 
Thanks for the inspiration for this one, @TheGillMan. And also, man it bugs me how weak the later file cards are. Helix has such a generic "cool chick" bio where the women in the original run, you could build a whole world out of those two paragraphs. It also felt like the writers chickened out of naming her or giving her details like birthplace or specialties, so I made those up.

Subject was on assignment at the time the GI Joe Unit was dissolved and immediately went to ground. She has for the most part successfully avoided attempts at surveillance; sightings have been reported in Washington DC, San Francisco, Manhattan, Boston, Charleston, and Salt Lake City. In each of these cases, the subject was in the presence of U.S. Congressmen, important financiers, and in one case, a tech billionaire. Each of these people have petitioned the Lewis administration to deal with this agent and her 'threats' to their well-being, though no evidence of verbal or written threats have been provided. Publicly, she is considered a wanted fugitive; privately, the Lewis administration says she is kill on sight.

"A lot of us never had a chance to get to know Helix, and I think that's by choice - her choice. She likes to be an enigma. But what we do know is she's a lot more Snake Eyes than anyone wants to admit, and what I mean is, if she assesses a threat and has a chance to end it, she will do so with the most efficient brutality possible. It hadn't occurred to me til that earlier comment that OF COURSE there would be senators who back up Cobra Commander.

I think Dial Tone is next. I'm on a tech-person binge this week with these.
