G.I. Joe Classified Series

I always kinda liked the Grand Slam they did in the 'DTC' wave just before the 25th anniversary stuff came along.

For real, he is one, ugly mofo. I'm kinda stunned at how ugly in fact, goddamn. That poor man needs a Classified glow up else I'm just going to be looking at him with pity every time he catches my eye.

Got two Ghost Vipers delivered from Walmart. What an incredible set! I love both the Ghost Viper helmets! They must be made out of translucent plastic for the detailing. Paint work on top came out great. Love all the options like the extoplasm? gas leaking out of the gauntlets, the alternate ghost clawed hands, and the ghost heads! Very cool that he has that ectoplasm blast effect, too. The ghost wolf and viper are awesome as well. Fully articulated ghost wolf—what a time to be alive.

And some fun reveals! I love Hydro-Viper! I remember bringing with me in my pocket to a Sea World when I was a kid. I just hope his awesome helmet can stay on more securely now. He would definitely work as a specialist since he’s genetically enhanced for underwater combat. Hope he comes with a manta ray.

i think i had crazy legs as a kid, but not sure i'd get him now. time will tell.

I'm sort of regretting canceling my Ghost Viper, especially now that they raised the price. But I decided I definitely didn't want two of them, and there didn't appear to be a way to cancel just one, so... oh well. I'll keep my $60.
 
Some fun little things I've done with my Ghost Viper set with Crystal Ball:

Use the left "beast" hand for Crystal Ball, it holds the titular crystal ball a lot better.
Attach the backpack hose to the guard on CB's sword so it looks like the backpack is fueling the green flame
Attach the gauntlet flame effect to the hose's end as if it "broke" off of the weapon and is spraying wildly
Prop the beast heads on the nubs of the backpacks almost like "summoning" heads.

Overall, I really like this Ghost Viper. I'm a little bummed about the price tag, the bicep cut and the horizontal wrist hinges. I love the backpack and hose, and the default head. He just looks so loaded this way. I think for $25, Crystal Ball was the better product, but dang if this guy doesn't look even cooler than CB. Take the best new sculpt of the year (Retro Viper), give it a colorful transparent hose, and you've got a contender for Classified figure of the year.

One last thought, I really wish they would have given GV a fire axe to fit in Barbecue's backpack slot, like maybe with a black handle and transparent green blade, would have been sick!
