G.I. Joe Classified Series

@Neal welcome! And... yeah, you came right when this thread was trainwrecking once more!

I totally appreciate the "trainwreck". 😆

Speaking of which ... my credit card. I always love it when Amazon pushes a bunch of preorders up to the same week as the SDCC exclusives.

I love getting new stuff, but it doesn't have to be all at once!

Saw a review of armoured CoCo and cancelled my pre-order, first one I’ve done that for. Basically, the blue is too dark and the metal portions finish dull and frankly cheap looking. It just doesn’t pop like the original colours did, I miss the bright blue and silver.
Between CoCo and Snake Eyes v4, it just feels like they missed the mark with contrast and colors. The blues are all wrong, there's not enough contrast on either, and they just look dull. Sometimes it feels obvious, like Blowtorch, that they're dulling the colors for an eventual Retro release, but I wonder if either of those two are popular enough to warrant Retros. They'd both look just much more fun with more color pop, and what are these designs if not fun? The classic "Classified" colorway (aka turn down saturation and darken the value) doesn't really work with these designs imo.

Last note, about CoCo's marble plastic, I couldn't agree more. Cheap is the perfect word. It's just awful. Needs paint.

I don’t have BA CoCo in-hand yet, but I am clearly in the minority in that I totally dig the colors and prefer the metallic plastic to paint. I also preferred the second ML Ultron for the same reason. It’s partly one of those weird neurodivergent things re: texture etc, but also the metallic paint tends to scratch or chip easily when playing with figures, and I will be playing with BA CoCo A LOT. He’ll be a pocket/work-bag figure for sure.

Hilarious Classified moment: I had a CLAW pilot in my pocket after a show this last weekend, and it fell out as I was talking to my director/boss without me noticing. After a bit, he looks down, picks it up and goes: “ohh [Ace] this MUST be yours!”
Sigh. Badass villain and fight director caught with children’s toys. Good thing he knows me well, perhaps even better that I agreed to dress up as Buzz Lightyear for his grandkid’s birthday a couple years ago and stayed in character for FOUR HOURS.

Actors are allowed to be eccentric, I guess, cuz he just hired me again for the next gig.
I’ll be bringing V4 Snake-Eyes to first rehearsal because HE IS OUT FOR DELIVERY!!! Can’t wait to get to work on him with some black paint wash on his grey and metal bits.

I get where you're coming from. We all have silver figures that have paint scratches (often before we even open them!) where you can see the fake-silver plastic underneath. You really have to make a decision right away how important it is to protect that kind of paint job. Just kind of annoying that they did silver paint on the body and didn't on the limbs, pick one or the other.

Regarding v4 Snake Eyes, let the customized figure pictures flow! He seems like he could be pretty cool after some alterations.

I'd seen pics of course, but somehow I still wasn't quite expecting the polar bear to be as big as it is, all stuffed into the packaging. Excellent.

Got the notification from Pulse that Cold Slither that I ordered is shipping.

I also got the polar bear with glowing hands Snake Eyes accessory today, and I LOVE the polar bear. The swappable front leg fur for the arrows is unique, but the seam sticks out to my eyes maybe a little too much.

It seems like the leg holster was designed for a different figure, because it seems like there should be a silencer or clip that goes in the front of it, and I can't find one in the packaging anywhere.

Yup, this Snake-Eyes got the Stalker leg gear but not the Stalker pistol/silencer.

However, technically this version of Snake-Eyes should have no gear around his thighs and just “plain” pants, so it’s all extra anyway.
