G.I. Joe Classified Series

I got no problem having to buy an extra Sgt Slaughter to get Mercer when Slaughter looks as good as he does. Love the versatile looks with all the hat accessories. Mercer looks good too.

I don't want to, but I will likely buy at least two of each of the retro Greenshirt and the police officer. Just for head swaps. Will buy two BATs, one for the carded collection and one to open.

Ooh I’m gonna spend a lot more than $50, and it’s gonna be a lot more than just Matt and Frank going to town on those blue boys. Basically hoping Mattel drops Batman in scale with these guys next year. Any 6” scale figure I’ve got is probably gonna knock these guys around.

Also: hilarious that I was like “they aren’t going to actually solicit preorders for stuff they showed renders for last week” and Hasbro’s like “naw we totally will!”

Today’s gonna be expensive. Three army builders!
 
Looks like they really improved the milquetoast face sculpt on the greenshirt. (Say that sentence ten times fast.) I like the heads enough I will probably get two. The funny thing is if the heads are compatible across the greenshirts and cops you could get four unique versions of each, but still end up with eight extra heads with no home. I think I'll grab two greens today for nostalgia's sake and if they end up being compatible, I could see myself impulse buying more later.

I'm gonna pick up one retro BAT - kinda like the idea of him being a prototype or something. No need to army build but I like the colors and effects a lot.

I've avoided army building since the first Cobra trooper cos I wasn't sure the line would last (I have some duplicate vipers because of a sale and did get an extra Crimson Guard so I could set up an "honor guard" style matched pair but haven't bought dupes of any other troopers since then) but I really want enough of these to set up shots from Born Again. I gotta give the design team props - they did a hell of a job designing these guys and stacking them with the tools of oppression. Even that glamour shot of the figure in riot gear in the rain from the promo images - the photographer did a magnificent job with the pic but it's hard not to feel like it's a photo from the news. Makes me wonder if there was any internal discussion about the timing of it all. Someone running numbers is probably thinking they either got very lucky to jump on a moment, or is sweating his nuts off.
 
I know I'm going to lose my resolve and buy the Slaughter/Mercer two pack. Looking at that Sarge, I might just do a head swap for a new head canon Joe. After reading these comments, I'm warming up to the idea of mixing in my own lore/characters.
 
The communications coming out of these live streams have been awful lately. Wrong drop times and now apparently non existent weekly live streams.

I'd put 50/50 odds on this being "there was no live stream, what do you mean you posted we have a live stream on social media?" being the reason for the cancelation vs. "what do you mean we're previewing a riot cop action figure this week, are you nuts" from Hasbro's overall PR/comms team.
 
Thank you for posting that! I wonder if they'll still do one next week, or if they're merging them or what? Also, Star Wars is getting on on Friday so maybe that contributed to this decision? Dunno.

They did a Transformers one the other day too so that shouldn’t have an impact on Yo Joe June. Just odd they canceled it so last minute. Hopefully next week is twice as long to make up for it.
