I love that he's molded in that dark green with sections of black paint. To me the overall look reads as "cooler black" rather than green. Like somehow they took the magic of Snake Eyes and improved upon it. The web gear is also more stylish and more functional than any other Classified diver. He's just such a good US Navy Seal figure, something we never really get. Bless the Joe team for making these - they're not easy money like Hawk + MMS or the average Retro release, they required taking a huge chance and making a lot of new parts.

That's exactly where I'm at, too. Imagine if they made an improved AV and the first release was that color scheme :love: I'd still buy one on the old buck, but really on a new buck, with the Cobra shield and fanged visor, would just be 10/10.
 
Yeah I want the “bumblebee” and “coke classic” colorschemes of Alley-Viper v2. Dragon-helmet and Cobra shield (and cooler body armor!) for the win.
 
I can't find it, but I distinctly remember an old Navy TV ad of SEALs slowly rising out of the water.

It went down to $69 and change last night and that's when I bit. I had 2 gift cards as well, so it didn't cost me much of anything out of pocket after that.
 
It's definitely a good deal on the Stinger. I was hoping for $65 or less as I mainly want the driver, but the sales have really started to pick up this weekend. Decisions, decisions.

I also received the Blowtorch arrival date email. Cannot wait. He's probably my most anticipated preorder at this point. Loved the original figure despite the issues with the giant mask clasp. I still remember my brother getting Mutt and Junkyard that same day and both of us were annoyed with those masks.
 
Yesterday's talk about the generic sailor figure - he just popped up as a suggestion on Amazon and they've got him down to 24 bucks if anyone is looking. I ended up biting because I love the buck they've got Torpedo on and while I thought I ordered the diver two pack from Pulse I can't find the order anywhere and now I'm wondering if I deliberately skipped it to save money when they revealed all that stuff at once. The other action force figures look so specifically real, but the all black with green highlights look on the diver feels generic enough to work, at least at a discount that gets him to standard figure price.

EDIT: FFS, how did I forget it was a fricken Target exclusive? I've gotten better about remembering where my preorders are but that's twice I got absolutely baffled because a store exclusive showed up elsewhere (the divers are on Pulse, and a few months back when She-Ra popped up for Masterverse on BBTS I had no recollection she'd only been on Walmart before, but at least in that case I was able to put money in BBTS' pocket instead of Walmart, so it was a good surprise. This time I'm just an idiot who spends too much money.)
 
I'm looking forward to the diver set, even though the looks are my least-favorite divers so far. Love the weapons, especially the OG Classified Duke rifle but in black and red, and I'm glad the goggles are tinted translucent plastic rather than opaque like Torpedo's. But I'm really expecting to find it on clearance. Are people going to army build these? They're kinda fugly, let's be real. But, maybe the yellow Diver is one of those designs that only looks good if you have ~3+ on a shelf together.

Now, Hasbro, let's stop fucking around and do an Eel v2! I know that's literally everyone's favorite Eel design, so let's go!! 😂 I want a v2 Shipwreck while I'm at it.

Actually, though. I don't even own the first Eel Classified figure. Don't give a fuck about that one. Give me the crazy design and give it to me now. And stop fucking muting down all the colors for the regular releases, you cowards.
I'd also take a Hydro-Viper.

Anyway, giant yes to Hydro-Viper, easily the coolest underwater Cobra, and oh if they were willing to make Frag-Viper a creepy android/cyborg, they can go CRAZY with ol’ H-V. Gimme some alt-webbed hands AND feet, an alt-head with obvious mutations (maybe an organic take on the helmet’s features?), various bits to give the options for “creepy underwater trooper”all the way to “actual inhuman abomination from the depths”. And of course a giant manta ray. The closer this dude looks to a purple Creature from the Black Lagoon, the happier I’ll be.

Hydro-Viper is a perfect example of a figure that would benefit from the 'regular line vs. retro line' treatment. It's such a great design that you can just re-create it 1:1 for a retro-card figure, and then do a mainline release and just go crazy with the idea of it and crank it up to 11.
 
I tend to not go as outlandish as some of you guys like to, but... a Creature From the Black Lagoon Viper is kinda too much to pass up for me.
