Sha-bang seems to be correct. Apparently that was the spelling early in the development of the character. It's likely they changed the spelling, but not the intent of pronunciation. That means they intended it to be pronounced like tj in some Scandinavian languages. If it's supposed to present as a more Asian-inspired name, then it would likely be more like the J in the French-pronunciation of the name 'Jean.'
I've seen people say it's 'Cha-bang,' which would make it a Dutch name, I guess?

OK, so I've had a pile of goodies to open. Snake Eyes 4, Snake Eyes and polar bear, Cover Girl, and waited for armored Cobra Commander to arrive today. Still holding out hope for Crystal Ball, but didn't want to wait to receive him before opening these. Also received Cold Slither, but I don't plan to open that set.
First, the one I like the least, Snake Eyes 4. I've no connection to this version. Almost in the same way that his machine gun has no connection to the holster, nor the sheath backpack to the peg hole in his back have no connection. All that shit just falls out. His articulation feels nice and fluid though, no stiff or stuck joints.
Next I messed with Snake Eyes and the polar bear. Snake Eyes is fine, nice to have him in cartoon colors with bare hands. Not essential to my collection, but fine. It's obviously the bear that's the draw here, and he/she does not disappoint. Like docsilence, I was expecting it to actually be bigger. But I'm very satisfied with its size and articulation. I don't think I'll display with the arrow wound ever, and the roaring head may be a little too aggressive. But I don't love the calmer scarred head either, so still deciding there. What I really wanna do is have it face off against my Black Series Wampa, but that guy's so deep into my display I'll never get it out without making Hoth erupt.
Cobra Commander is dope. I love that he comes with two heads showing human and reptilian eyes. I'll be displaying the reptilian eyes for now, but I'm not opposed to the other. As a kid, I always had him wearing the backpack so the narrower part was at the top. I only recently did I find out that's upside down. I always thought of it as a jetpack also, and this seems to have peg holes for exhaust effects, so that finally confirmed my childhood assumptions. I really like this figure. The iguana is a bonus and will join my menagerie of animal cohorts between ML and Classified.
Cover Girl. Maybe a top ten figure of the year for me. What a gorgeous portrait. Both of them, really. I wasn't that offput by the original Classified portrait, but it did go too heavy on the make up. I think the sculpt was there. With this one, there's no making excuses. Those faces are just so pleasant to look at. I still haven't decided how I'll display her, but I really like her with the cap and wide smile. I might put the hair down/neutral face on the original body just to see how she looks. Even though my Pulse order for her got canceled, I still plan to find extras of her once she's more widely available. Still don't know why she and Flint were canceled.
