G.I. Joe Classified Series

Yes I'd also hate to see them tie Joes and Transformers together too deeply via Dark Energon. In name, it's fine. But I don't want to be gouged for a zombie because it comes with like, a mini Unicron head or whatever. Or be taken out of whatever Joe storyline I'm reading because Starscream (the GOAT) is involved. Or even worse, have to buy Transformers to get the Joes I want. I dropped them so I could spend more on Classified, I'm not going back!

Starscream is the reason the Joe team is founded in the new Skybound books.

Was unclear if you were referencing that.

Megatron is the reason Cobra and MARS exist. Without getting too into it.

Armored Cobra Commander is on his way via Walmart. I ordered yesterday. Says it will arrive today.
Ugh, I ordered two from this order and received only one. They still charged for two.

UGH. Thanks, Wlamrat.

Are you using them as two faceless troopers like I plan to?

(And are you naming one of the iguanas Jub-Jub, like I plan to?)

THIS! They can make all the energon figures they want, but just don't make it harder for the Classified collectors to get stuff than it already is. I haven't invested in Transformers on purpose and would prefer not be looped in through crossovers. But I am absolutely not above buying a versions of Joes in their energon lewks if they're badass.

Chameleon, Baroness, Risk, and Beefy Mercer would be easy sells for me.

I feel like even the vintage TMNT Leonardo solved the issue of crossed stored blades, though his were on his back.

It's not so much 'can it be done,' but rather 'can it be done well, look good, and have minimal interference with a modern action figure's articulation.' I suspect the difficulty in marrying those concerns is one of the reasons we haven't actually seen a v3 SE yet. I'm 100% positive they de-prioritize stuff that might be more challenging to develop.

Fingers eternally crossed for T'jbang.

I want T'jbang pretty badly, but I really really really do NOT want him 'classified-up.' I want him unapologetically garish and ridiculous.

@docsilence I am with you there. I always bitched about having to buy comic legends to get movie legends BAF parts and compared it to having to buy transformers to get a Joe... And now there's this! Please no.

@Chooch555 Mercer and Chameleon for me, definitely, the others are probably. I'm sure I will want them when they're revealed ok a fan stream or something.

@Damien agreed on snake eyes v3.

The loops used for the knifes on Ka-zar/Shanna/Rogue are pretty secure and might be a starting place for a V3 SE, but also those knifes are thicker than I'd like to see crossed over each other on the front of a figure who should be very posable. I bet you're right that we haven't seen him yet because they're waiting to do it right vs. not at all. (Certainly cannot say that this line takes the easy route when it comes to properly designing weapon storage.)

Funny thing to complain about, but I kinda wish I didn't get both Snake Eyes in the same week because I want to enjoy them both! Although getting his most stripped down version vs. his most garish at the same time is pretty great. I've decided I'm picking up V4 for my brother as a surprise gift as his first Classified.

If this is causing you any heartache, please feel free to send that V4 my way instead.

For sure. I mean, I think the Classified team has had some missteps -- like v2 Storm Shadow. But I think they always -mean well-. I'd be surprised if they look at a poor solution for v3 (or anything else) and say 'good enough.' More than maybe any other action figure development team going right now, I really do get the impression that the Joe team has a high bar for doing things to the best of their ability.
The downside of that, as I said before, is that they de-prioritize stuff they might struggle to do because the development time is money and they all work for Hasbro. It might be hard to say 'well, we spent 216 man-hours figuring out how to do the chest knives for a specific version of a character that has 25 variations for us to choose from.'

So... how is the name T'jbang pronounced?

I can't for the life of me figure out how one would say that name...

Is it silent T, emphasis on the last syllable like: juh-BANG

Is the t not silent and its more like: tij-BANG

Or, because of the apostrophe do we pronounce both letters individually like: tuh-juh-BANG

I'm honstly lost here.

I do hope they do a zombie-viper but moreso I hope they actually do an army builder with three zombies and interchangeable gear.
I’m fine with it being a solo release, but I do want heads/gear to make multiple “individual” zombies. One problem with the 3 3/4 Zombie-Viper was its very specific and non-generic head.
IF we are keeping the sci-fi “Compound Z” elements intact, here is what I want:
-base body VERY generic in clothes color, no Cobra insignia. “Everyman” quality
-All four limbs exposed and “zombified”, possibly with some alt-parts for asymmetrical coverage
-“classic” tubing-rig vest, also something like Crystal Ball’s coat as an alt-option for a more “generic zombie” look
-THREE zombie portraits: 1) a hairless, shriveled Nosferatu/Resident Evil-like head with scary eyes and prominent teeth 2) a half-mangled “messy” head and 3) a “zombie Cobra trooper” with shredded fmask over the lower face and such
-I’m fine with relinquishing the clear helmet of the original for something more directly bite-restraining like a muzzle or bit.
-bendy tendril-arms would be cool but would definitely pump this into Deluxe figure zone, and maybe that is OK
-I’d love a scaled-up version of that internally-spiked collar-staff that came with some 3 3/4 modern ninja figures. It always felt like it was made for the zombies

Now, several of these parts could be immediately reused for Toxo-Zombie, and I hope this time TZ has a removable helmet so we can get the full zombie portrait out there.
