His final figure in '94 was the all black outfit, right? I don't like that one at all, but it could look really good in Classified. The 'Talking' one and one of the winter-themed ones are really the only ones I'm actively hoping for, though.

They were definitely removable back then if you worked hard enough. Haha.

Eyeglass screwdriver.

I did it to all mine immediately. If I recall you had to get the backpack split so that you could then reach the screw that secured it to the figure.

And you could preserve the recording tech if you were careful.

I'm pretty sure I just hit mine with a hammer or something and then broke off the peg in the back. Hahaha.

I ended up taking the backpack off Overkill. Although I loved his commands and battle sound effects, I wanted him to be easier to play with.

This all day long!!! I was so impressed with myself for figuring it out. Mildly bummed they were “flat” on the back, though, except for Overkill where the weird back was fine because robot.
They did round out the back of that Cobra Commander sculpt when they released the Battle Corps black/silver version, but like they added mass so CC was even beefcakey-er, and that sculpt was pretty damn beefcake to begin with. I was totally into CC being jacked! Like he was tired of getting knocked out of Trubble Bubbles and decided to get yoked.

I love that Overkill. He was core Cobra in my canon.
