G.I. Joe Classified - News & Updates

Doc was robbed of a job he already proved he deserves.

I feel nothing for not getting a AAA Snake Eyes game, to be honest. It was going to be garbage. These idiots set themselves up and just decided to CALL themselves a 'AAA game studio' without ever having released a video game at all. The cinematic director helped on some Telltale (decidedly not AAA) stuff, and then moved over to Rocksteady and worked on Kill the Justice League; one of the most hated video games of the last 5 years. That's like.. his entire CV, mind you. From Telltale to one of the worst 'AAA' games in recent history. NOTHING else.

The fucking idiot calling himself the lead designer? He was Quality Assurance on a bunch of games. Literally a play-tester writing logs of any bugs or janky elements. He's NEVER made a game before.

But these two guys qualified themselves as a 'AAA game studio.' Anyone looking forward to that Snake Eyes game was 10,000% going to end up disappointed, no matter what.

Hasbro has opened and closed like three game studios over the past five years. They can't decide if they want to be in the game business or not, just like they can't decide if they want to be in the movie business or not. They really need to acknowledge what worked with BG3 - farm out the IP to a studio that wants to do a killer job and GIVE THEM TIME TO GET IT RIGHT. But they won't. So yeah, zero chance that Snake Eyes game would have been good, so no great loss.

I am teetering on depressed about the file cards :D And whoever wrote them cannot take a single word of credit for Airtight, that's word for word Larry's work from the OG card. I've got that fucker memorized.

Let's not forget that episode from ARAH where Cobra used ghosts to fight the Joes. There was a WW1 fighter pilot, Roman Soldier and warrior woman. So all three could be canon figures and hell the ghost aspect gives Lenny an out for why they should be made and how to "zhuzh" them up for Classified.
Is there some sort of GI Joe cook that has more kitchen utensils than weapons. Perhaps even fights with food?

We need to find them at comic con and let them know they are gonna fire that loser.

There's some alternative community where one of their own got the shot at this and everyone is celebrating, not knowing he's about to get jumped at a con by an Irishman and a guy who is just going to lecture them during ths beating about the historical reality and authenticity of something they flavored in the upcoming Spartan guy.

And then some alternative quipper is flipping through third party gooner figure paint jobs opining they haven't seen people this hungry for blood since Cobra Kai jumped Daniel-san at the Halloween dance.

I thought that Airtight card was familiar.

Clipping and saving the file cards was mandatory for me in the 80s. I have five recipe card boxes full of them....almost every character from 1982-1994.

By the time the 2000s rolled around they were getting worse and worse. But by then they were mainly shopping us the same classic characters over and over (like they do now) and how many ways can you tell me the same things about Snake Eyes. But I still clipped and saved them out of habit.

Today, at least with the retro Classified stuff, you have a big honking FC with one sentence written six times over in different languages and terrible AI artwork. That broke the habit for me. They all went to the recycling.

Today I can take or leave the file cards. If they are the garbage that we have been getting on the retro card backs, they can keep them. If they're going to try for human artist and writers telling us something meaningful about the character then maybe they'll get me back.

The file cards on the retro figures have the right look but no story to them. Everything gets recycled now. I do have that vintage big old book collecting the OG file cards on the bookshelf next to my desk though. I love flipping through those.

We know Deep Six is coming, right? This is the first hint at what the figure might look like, though. Looks like it might be pretty cool.
