G.I. Joe Classified Beamish-Style Weekend Vehicle Poll - #87 - Transportable Tactical Battle Platform (RAH)

If this had ever become as iconic as Castle Grayskull, I might be interested. I didn’t have this as a kid, and upon adult inspection, I’m realizing it’s mostly just a garage.

This is another set that I could see benefiting from a modular design. Sections that, sold separately, could link together in a variety of configurations to form Joe bases. Making the HQ compatible with the bunker sets could allow for further expansion.
Color me interested, but intimidated by the likely cost of a fully constructed set. It would depend on overall design, and cost.

There's no way I'd have room for it, but one of my friends had it and I didn't and I ALWAYS wanted it, so I'd circle one of these like a fucking stalker wanting to get one. Maybe if they could make it modular so it's easier to store? Like do it in three parts. Or, I mean, christ on a crutch, if it's big enough to store two vehicles, I re-do the shelf in my studio where the other vehicles are and I stick those INSIDE It and I could make room.

But seriously, do it in several parts that snap together. Command area, jail, depot, motor pool, landing pad. Sell them in four parts. And then they could BE FUCKING EVIL about it an include Heavy Metal with the depot, retro Clutch with the motor pool, Lady Dial Tone in the command center, a "captive Cobra Soldier" repaint with the jail, and like the Greenshirt equivalent of the ramp rat with the landing pad and make everyone mad.

Day 87 - Headquarters (RAH) (7/5/26)

Nine years later, they did another one!

I actually think they could jazz that up and make it more affordable than the OG version. But it's certainly less rad than the OG version.

I got that version when I was, what, 15? It was something I bought with no intention of playing with, but because I always envied my cousin for owning the original one. But this one was far from the original, and I kinda hate it for that. heh.

They could embellish on the original by incorporating elements of this later design into the original, using a modular model. Give us a Joe “super fortress”.

Even if I could afford it and had the space available, I don't think I'd be interested in that one. I never liked the more 'skeletal' playsets in any toyline.

The original looked like a small makeshift headquarters. This one looks like a toy.
