Four Horsemen Studios Mythic Legions

Will they not release standard editions online later?
They will, and it's fine - Im sure I'll settle for those like I usually do. The story of Camelot has been a favorite of mine since as long as I can remember though, and I really do want any knights from the legends. Will suck to miss out on Bedivere. And I'm not sure which part is the exclusive part for Merlin, but if it's that skull cap head and i miss out on it for settling with the regular, Im going to be disappointed for sure.

Two thoughts knowing how these are being released:
1: I wonder what kind of numbers they'd do if they released an army builder with just like, four random round table knights on the same body with a tabards or something. Save the ones to put exta work into (or at least do new paint apps) for the big names like Gawain, Lancelot, Modred, etc. but just throw Bors, Kay, Gaheris, Constantine, just known but less famous knights into an army builder and make it relatively easy to do.
2: I can't help but imagine them getting the boredom bug mid-theme like they did with the Christmas Carol and chasing another concept after the first three or four figures.

At least you can sub green Father Christmas for Ghost of Christmas Present (he's technically too short, but whatever) and Maxillius for Yet-To-Come. I do wish we'd gotten a Scrooge though, big hole there.

The green Father Xmas is one of those figures I always think about getting and forgetting about. Got the OG Skinny Santa though.

The idea of a builder for the random less known knights is really good, as it would get them all out there (and avoid issues like Bedivere being locked behind an exclusive).

Seems a bit too sensible for them though, it's unfortunately more likely they remain as convention exclusive bits to other figures and they lose interest around 3 years into the line.

Yep, apparrently in 2027. The problem is though they usually sell out of the more popular figures within a couple of minutes when released online. That means if you don't know when the sale is or don't get online quick enough, there's no chance.

I think Merlin's extra bits are just the demon pieces, so both regular heads should be included on the standard release.

I think I’m in for both of these if I can get them.

Anyone see a little fisher price knights vibe in the King Arthur design? Or am I lost in the nostalgia sauce? I mean that as a good thing I loved those toys as a kid.

The actual funny thing here is that there is no established 'correct' heraldry for Arthur or his knights. So literally any knights in your collection can be 'of the Round.'
Stop throwing solid logic out there! Actually thank you for pointing that out. I needed to be reminded of that. I am a huge fan of the legend and I can just see my frustration every year when they put out two Knights of the Round Table with exclusive extra parts to make two additional Knights of the Round Table that I will never be able to have.

The way they do the exclusives really turns me off to their lines. After getting the one SC figure I could see myself bolting to them and ditching ML completely if they start putting out knights.

We all need to be reminded some time. I think collectors get tunnel vision for the 'official' thing. Even for those of us that open our toys and display them, we somehow really seem to care what it said on the PACKAGE when we bought the toy. And toy companies, especially the likes of 4H, feed off that energy.
Meanwhile, the 4H have released enough knight shit for 3 Round Tables already. How many knights in white armor are there? 3? There you go - your choice of which one to make Galahad. Don't wait 4 years for 4H to get around to the 'official' one that you probably won't even like as much.

I am -desperate- for SC to start doing knights.

I do wish they’d gone more “proper mythological period” for Arthur’s armor rather than “ehhhhh Excalibur is an awesome film”, but I love and need these.

MAKE MORGAN LE FAY.
Also Gawain and the Green Knight, please.

Of course, I really want Merlin’s demon parts, grrrr.

I think the reality is that the vast majority of people, even fantasy nerds like those that buy 4H stuff, probably would struggle to recognize a circa 6th century-ish warrior as ever being 'King Arthur.' I remember the aptly named King Arthur movie being derided as not being 'accurate' because he was dressed in post-Roman attire. I mean, the movie's material culture was utter garbage, but the problem wasn't a lack of plate armor.

The skullcap is probably a reference to Excalibur, right? Like the movable visor on Bedivere is a Holy Grail reference.
