Forum Feedback

I also object to having General at the top, but that's because I'm a Marvel zombie - it's not a reasoned position. But hey, that's the world we live in, so I'm going with my vibes.

For the record, I like Thwiptster's low-effort trolling. Even better when it's punctuated with random emojis.

I'm forever a general kinda guy, I couldn't be happier about it being up top. Definitely better than being basically at the bottom, especially given its popularity.

Aww, man. Don’t encourage him.

Just have to say that I'm so happy the "Mark Forums Read" feature doesn't screw up keeping up with where you were in a thread. On the Fwoosh if you clicked it it reset everything and you lost your spot in the thread. Good forum!

A small update in the interest of transparency: we had to ban our first member yesterday. The user in question was sending abusive, bigoted private messages to a moderator. We don't want to ban anyone, but we have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to hateful language.

Over the last few weeks, we've received positive and negative feedback about the way we're moderating. I wanted to let you all know that we take all feedback to heart. We discuss it internally to make sure we're putting our best foot forward. We want to make sure Articulated Thoughts is the kind of forum we all want it to be. I appreciate your patience as we work through any growing pains.

As a final bit of housekeeping, we added one more forum rule today: assume good intentions.

As always, if you have feedback for us, feel free to post here or PM the moderators.

Really appreciate the transparency TSI, and love the new rule. Thanks to you and the mods for doing the hard work of making a space where we can congregate and enjoy ourselves without letting assholes ruin it for everyone! Being willing to listen to feedback puts y'all above 98% of online spaces out there.

Well, it had to happen eventually, but over 2 months w/o a ban is quite impressive for a new site. A pretty solid community here thankfully.
We've been very fortunate in who we've attracted to make the jump. We'd still like to keep growing, but we definitely feel we're growing in the right direction, and that's just as important. But let's be clear, if we have a solid community here, it's because of all of you making it that way.

Yes, I want to pile on and say that this community that we have here with all of you is incredible, and that y’all make it a pleasure to serve. This is such a positive and fun space, and it’s worth keeping it that way.
I want to reiterate as well that PMs and direct communication is fine and even encouraged when it comes to moderation stuff. We’re here for YOU, and I want to remain as personally transparent as possible.
Also: as someone who is perhaps a “high volume” post contributor to the site (toys get me excited, what can I say?), I want to draw a firm line between “Ace the moderator” and “Ace the weird forum guy who has too many Classified Joes”. I’m going to try to be very clear and distinct about when I am expressing an opinion that is mine, and when I am operating in a moderator capacity. I think that’s very important. Because unless I am literally putting on my “mod hat”, I’m just one of you, no more or less important nor powerful than any other member of this place.

I believe in fellowship. And I think we have a great fellowship here. Thanks to all of you for contributing to the community, and thanks always to TSI for making it all possible.
