I know they don't want to get too predictable, but not finishing like, the four spirits of Christmas feels like a bad marketing move. Even if they kept the schedule one more year to let buyers have a complete set and then rest their Xmas line for a few years after that.
 
I mean they didn’t confirm one way or the other but they were being really cagey about the line being ‘predictable.’ I personally don’t care about the releases being predictable, in fact it’s nice for budgeting to know when I’m about to drop $100 rather than having no notice. The next release being something we aren’t going to see coming makes me think it at least won’t be the Ghost of Christmas Present. Now if it ends up being him, The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, and Scrooge to wrap up the Christmas Carol beat all at once I’d be good with that. I get that theme isn’t for everyone but those of us that enjoy it want to see if finished.

Yeah, it's a niche series, but it's been kind of fun knowing we have a new one coming each holiday season. I don't need the Christmas Avengers but not doing the ghosts (and Scrooge) to finish things off feels weird unless they truly were not selling enough to make it worth it, and if that's the case, you gotta do what you gotta do, I guess.
 
I stopped with Marley as I kinda fizzled on everything without Scrooge. If they had done Scrooge I'd probably have at least gotten that. The Ghost of Christmas Present seems an obvious standout for this year and I think would keep people engaged. Stepping away just makes me think you'll either be waiting a while to finish this line or they think you can make your own remaining ghosts out of what exists currently. Either way I'm out, as I temper my 4H purchases now given their prices and the fact that I'm waiting a year+ to receive them. They've pushed me off their preorder model and by the time the stuff I wanted releases, it's either mostly sold out or the new price has made me reconsider whether I actually need it that badly.
 
If it's not an item that's exclusive to their store you can preorder it at BBTS with generally no money down, and lock it in when they put it up, and then cancel it later if you decide you no longer want it (that's what I generally do for Mythic and Cosmic items).

I only got Marley the first year they started doing them because he was a cool looking ghost figure in general, so I had no intention of finishing the "Carol" crew, though any other cool looking figures might have tempted me.

Now I'm interested to see what they have planned, and if their overselling it, or underestimating the potential demand. The Jersey Devil seems like one that took longer than usual to sell out, so maybe they SHOULD stick to being "predictable" for a bit with the Christmas releases.

Yeah, I'm not even invested but that's really frustrating. Why even start the pattern and items?

Whenever I hear that nickname for Eric Maise, I always think of those early 2000s ads for Corn Nuts with the cartoon corn doing various crimes or serving time.

Corn gone wrong.
 
They also said they might not continue doing the retailer versions, which I honestly disagree with. Their figures are already so hard and expensive to get for us international collectors, but at least the retail versions gave another opportunity to get these exclusive figures. I also really dislike their "no preorder" approach for this line, like instead of focusing on the main lines which are taking 2+ years to make, they keep making all these extra figures which just keep the factory occupied. I would prefer them doing preorders for everything, stuff would come out sooner.

When your last name is Maize you can lean into being called CornBoy or you can hate wvery decond of it and get called that anyway. But maize is corn...
