Yeah, the buy four thing is annoying, but I've had luck reselling them for close to what I paid, never making the BAF more than $10-20, which is actually cheaper than just buying the figure at the store. Huge pain, though, and I'd rather just buy it outright. I'm still one piece of a Jonah Hex away from a complete collection.
The articulation doesn't bother me, as I'm looking for style over joints in a cartoon line. I like the look of them, and man, what a collection. DCD outdid themselves with character selection, and now to have it continue, even if McFarlane's plastic feels cheap in comparison, is incredible to me. Even kid me didn't dream of getting a Bullock and Montoya. Maxie Zeus and Lock-Up? That's just fantastic.
I don't know what it is about Timm-styled figures that make the companies make us buy multiple figures to get the ones we actually want, but it's been the worst tradition ever since Hasbro did four packs to get an Alfred or a Talia figure. Mattel kept that traditional alive in those impossible-to-find JLU packs, and now McFarlane is caring that torch.
I keep hoping for a grand finale wave of all-new figures. My picks would be: Red Claw, the Ninja, Hugo Strange, and Tygrus with a BAF Werewolf. Not plausible, but what a gift that would be.
