Cosmic Legions

Judging by what I received from the first character packs, we're only waiting for the head packs to be produced. The couple combo packs I received last time were just the regular release figures with the head packs coming in their own separate packaging.

I'm fairly certain all the figures we're ordering today are from stock sitting in their warehouse right now that'll be paired up with head packs later on.

Edit: Didn't think to look earlier, but none of the combo figures are available on the "in stock" side of the site anymore.

In any event, I bought more than I expected, too. Some of those combo prices really are tough to pass up.

The TU5CC Pilot and Heavy Gunner must have really languished, they're $3 more than the standard release with the $15 head pack included.

Okay, I've decided I like the gray TU5CC body enough that instead of paying 65 bucks for a blue armored body I'm just going to get the head pack with the black-bearded human head, an extra gray buck, and then hopefully find a home for the extra face plate from the TU5CC on a Mythic Legions knight. I do love the gunner and gravedigger figures, but I actually bought the gunner a second time to make a custom and whileI like the gravedigger figure, his equipment never did it for me (I actually snapped his baton in half and scraped a ton of paint off his hand just trying to get it in his grip last year).

Man, I am so boring. I really do just want lil space marine-y dudes with different human heads.

the only decision I'm wavering on which body I pick up for the female head option. I don't need an extra Zeerian head, but the engineer body is pretty boring (and her cape/cloak is really excellent, TBF).

100%

The combo sets are the only limited things here and I bet some sell out before the preorder window closes. They only have so many of those figures left on hand. Probably a good amount based on needing these head sets to be made to move them, but there is a finite number of figures left with the head packs being made to order. And yeah, they’ll just ship those out in their original packaging with these head packs in their own packaging too. It’s more a ‘bundle’ than a ‘combo’ in that sense.

I think this wave really addresses something the Horsemen have been hesitant on - introducing humans to Cosmic. I get that creatively that the aliens are probably more fun for Eric to sculpt but the fans are wanting the humans to go with all of that. Repaints of knight faces with the space cowl was a good compromise. These packs aren’t necessarily canon to the storyline but the Horsemen have always embraced the customization aspect of their figures and these fulfill that need. For me, I wanted many of these sets for new knight faces plates. Getting a chance to play around with some cosmic figures for cheap was a great way to suck me in since I haven’t been much of a cosmic buyer. Even when using the face plates on knights, each combo set has something else that can be used for the cosmic body. $10 for a couple of heads or $15 for multiple heads or parts is still a heck of a deal, even if it’s primarily to move old stock. It’s a great way to clearance out without an actual clearance. New stuff is always nice, however it may come.

Completely agree on the head packs being a good deal. I hope they're all universal and work on various knight heads because if they do I'd happily pick up duplicates of some knights to pop these faces onto. I actually put the spare heads from two of the Oxkrewe figures onto these generic bodies and find them more... imaginative? Like they tell a story in my mind that's more fun than the big heavy duty armor, and I've really wanted some human faces in there. I'm rewatching Farscape and D'Argo is amazing but I want a Crighton to go with him, so to speak.

I think I'll end up spending about $40 bucks more than I want to on these just because I do want those human faces. I also never lked the head on the Man-E-Faces homage, so I might just get those heads to replace the ones he came with.

Yep, they are universal. They confirmed the face plates work on the chainmail heads and the space cowls that that Oxkrew used too. The other heads all use their typical ball joints. I really wish Hasbro would implement more universal sizes in joints for easier popping and swapping. How many different neck sizes do they really need? You’d think with reuse being built into so much of the tooling that more universal sizes would be the standard, at least within a single line, although across a company’s scale like BBWS and 4H so is so much better.

Good to know. I've got a couple of skeletal chainmail hood heads I will never use that I'd happily pop onto a generic knight body if I had a real face for them. Thanks!

That’s my plan too and why I went heavier than I originally anticipated. They snuck one of those human faces into nearly every set, making me pick up most of them. I think the pink alien set is the only one I didn’t pick up in the end.

I found Zeeri pretty lame for posing considering she has a rifle.

If they're gonna be limited, at least the engineer has chunky space suit as the excuse.

I actually just pulled both figures out to test them out. I love Zeeri's cloak setup but yeah, she's pretty limited in range. (Neither is super posable but there's less to get in the way with the engineer.)

Still tinkering with what I want and I was tempted with the snake head (AGAIN) but just relized they're including a new hip joint so you can attach the tail and... am I lazy if I just don't want the figure that much if I have to do THAT level reconstructive surgery to make the new pieces fit?

Some of these are pretty tempting. I loved the original Science Officer because the bright white and blue colors look great. But I had passed on the Sentry. Now the new heads/faces for the Sentry are tempting.

And the snake heads look pretty cool in this color scheme.

Less lazy, more Listen to Your Gut? Might not be a real want if it's off putting.

The tail doesn’t even match that well with the rest of the figure, so you could just ignore those pieces entirely or sell them.
