Cosmic Legions

That bit about the Oxkrewe had to be a mistake unless something went really wrong since their last update. WHich, TBF, I would not be surprised by since I no longer really even bother looking at the expected arrival dates on their stuff til it's literally on a boat from China, but that'd be a bit push backward for that wave.

I do like the snake heads. but I’m not too keen on just putting a snake head on a regular armored body.

The zombie parts could be useful somewhere.

I only have a few Cosmic Legions, so I’d he using any of these parts on Mythic Legions. There’s some potential but nothing to get too excited over. It is interesting we’re getting more CL heads and not more for MyL (beyond any potential cross-use). I can only assume CL just isnt moving as well and needs a little help to get rid of overstock.

A pointless breakdown and “fix” for each kit:

-Pink Alien for White Armor: this figure already came with a dumb pink alien head, a HUGE problem with Cosmic Legions and why it’s not popular: Fantasy is generic, Space is franchised. If you like “knights” or “orcs” you can collect Mythic Legions and say “oh cool! Knights and orcs!” but you see these random gleepglorps and think “this doesn’t fit into my Star Wars/Trek collection.” Maybe Cosmic would have more success if they had built some lore around a race of aliens, like if I collected Black Series I would consider putting a McF Na’vi from each tribe and a 1/12 import Predator in my cantina alien collection, but instead of actual world building they just toss in whatever lumpy bug eyed warm up sketch Treadway noodled out in blender before doing real work and said “fuck you, give me a dollar!”
What I would have like to seen instead: should have done a human face in the bonnet like they did so many other sets and include instead of a different gleepglorp no one fucking wants, that way you’re building a team of space jobbers you can have get eaten by Xenomorphsor whatever. Include the pink hands for the one guy who saw the teaser and really wanted them.

-Grey spaceman: this one’s fine.
What I would have like to seen instead: They should have just sold the bonnets to match each space suit and then a face plates set

-Red head lady: Ghost of Christmas past isn’t as pretty as Tharice and I’m getting tired of seeing her pop up so much as if I’m THAT face blind. Treadway needs to get better at sculpting hair, those noodles ass dreadlocks might have been fine 20X years ago when you were working for Big Todd or making one woman every seven years for Mattel but we’re in the golden age of import gooner figures, ya gotta sculpt better hair than that! This also just highlights the weakness of the woman’s “space suit” as just a black blank buck with no detailing on it.
What I would have like to seen instead: Christmas past uses the hair swap tech, at least make her some new less undead looking hair! Also, do a pack of like six women’s heads you can reuse the sculpts on later so you’re not just trading off between Tharice, Christmas Past, and coming soon no doubt five repaints in a row of Delphina. Also go back in time and make a full woman’s TUSCC and not this budget horsehit so you have more parts to play with going forward. “Oh our women figures don’t sell…” then do better! Garbage in, garbage out!

-Boba Fett/Snake: putting these together because they originally came together, and how ironic they need to make extra pieces to sell figures they took extra pieces away from! Almost like Legions con figures having bonus exclusive fuck-you-spend-thousands-of-dollars-coming-to-our-one-room-show-in-Jersey pieces is a BAD IDEA!
A big problem with these sets is, if you bought snake Predator and Red Magnus you probably planned to display them as Snake Predator and Magnus, these are at best lateral moves and worse the equivalent of McDonald’s saying to you once you finish your lunch “couldn’t help but notice you just enjoyed a delicious value meal… but did you know you could have gotten it… with sprite instead of coke?”
Also this is driving me insane: WHERE DO THE BARE SNAKE HANDS COME FROM?! I don’t recall my Snake Predator having them, and they don’t come with the snake heads, do I have them in a bin somewhere and forgot?! Do I need this set?! Those would really improve Snake Predator
What I would have like to seen instead: Don’t be cowards; 10% change Boba Fett helmet to complete the look, also how about a soft goods cape. Also gonna agree with the above comment: thicker tail. Also fucking sculpt some more snakes, lazy as shit every Minotaur, Cat, and snake have the same head and every woman is Gwendolyn, Tharice, or Christmas Past.

-Man-E-Faces: a real lateral moves, “hey give us $15 to… I don’t know” if you weren’t already sold on this figure I don’t know what a slightly different set of the same heads was going to do to get you on board
What I would have like to seen instead: shrug emoji

-Space Zombies: I’m already getting a neon green zombie head with the Legions con figures and that’s going right on my existing Waltor to be a space zombie, I’m sure I’m not the only one to do this and ol’ custom stealing Horsemen are trying to capitalize on that. I love the blue zombie parts and will probably pick a couple for customs… not sure why I would buy another Waltor though
What I would have like to seen instead: A full blue zombie? IDFK, this is the only good one they can take the W

-Heads three pack: bad, lazy. Like with so many of these if I wasn’t already on board how is a slightly different helmet getting me to plunk down my cash?!
What I would have like to seen instead: Three bonnets, three face plates, instant space crew! Also STOP BEING COWARDS: Gold TUSCC upper arms and thighs, a blue chest emblem, and if you won’t do three bonnets swap the colors on the blue and red one. You want to move some units?! COSMIC IRON MAN

I kinda like the space snake, but I also wish the tail was thicker/longer so it could appear more like a snake with robot legs.
Well, now I will never be satisfied with my collection until we get a figure that looks like a snake on robot legs.

It’s disappointing that it’s not an actual wave and just an attempt to move old product, but I’m liking some of the new head sculpts and think the prices are reasonable. I don’t care about any of the human heads, but the new pink alien looks good as well as the white helmet, along with the grey helmet and orange & green.

Is that redhead Tusc a figure or just a head and neck kit?
Head and Neck, $10

In addition she uses the Ghost of Christmas Past head so you can swap the red hair with the heads that come with female zombie (the one with the nose), the Legions Connymph, and both heads from both versions of Christmas past to give you some color options

I’m actually the opposite. I’m liking the human face options but don’t care for the cosmic alien or helmet heads. I picked up half a dozen Sir Elijah’s so having other face plates to use really has my interest. The rest ended up with the bucket helmets but that will change now with these options. Brilliant planning on having the chain mail hoods and the cosmic cowls interchangeable. They need to keep that comparability as much as possible. Sir Adalric really suffered from having a different face plate system.

As for the blue zombie, I’m betting the retailer Jacob Marley pairs really well with that and makes a 4H version of Ezra, on of the Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion. The blue does have a bit of a ghostly feel to it. Easily the best offering in the bunch, despite being just a repaint and nothing new. I mean most of these are just repaints but the prices are reasonable and not a bad way to try and move old product while offering something new. If Hasbro could have done this to move more Lando’s or Eternals figures they probably would have haha.

Yeah, the ability to put those human face plates onto Mythic figures will ensure those will move for sure. Definitely a great use for them. Heck, they’ll probably sell out of the heads before they sell out of the figures they’re trying to off-load!

Didn't realize the face plates can be used with MyL heads. How many MyL figures have been released so far which have this useful head? I know some of the face-switching heads are not compatible. Is it just Sir Elijah so far?

The snake heads match the arms from...a LegionsCon 2pk? Sigh.
