Sorry, guys. I didn't mean to be cryptic. I just thought this was old news since it goes way back to before Fwoosh's previous implosion.
The super short version is that the current owner of BFS - Andrew Franks - became THE owner by coming into some money independently and using some loophole in the contract between the partners to forcibly buy out Catrina and Erik and then fired them. While simultaneously telling them he would never do that and slowly gathering up information on the lines they were working on, etc etc.
Just.. incredibly scummy behaviour that he has, of course, blatantly refused to comment on publicly (probably due to ongoing litigation and the fact that his position is indefensible to any person that isn't a piece of trash). For all of his smiling and happy toy guy stuff on vidcasts with Veebs - legitimately just a bad person that doesn't deserve your money.
Edit to also point out just how fucking shitty it is to buy out and fire the people working on BFS's most successful and popular lines while simultaneously being the guy cratering the company's finances chasing licenses that will sell all of 15 figures, like Sam & Max.
