You can see your entire order history on BBTS. I am tempted/terrified to see what the total is. But this was apparently my first order:

Order Date: 12/23/2005

Items:
JLU: Lex Luthor, Copperhead, & Mirror Master 3 Pack
JLU: Tomar-Re, Green Lantern, & Kilowog 3 Pack
JLU: Batman, Superman, & Wonder Woman (Justice Lords) 3 Pack
Palz Series 1 - Vampire Buffy
Toy Biz LOTR: Electronic Eye of Sauron
Toy Biz LOTR: Super Poseable Frodo
Toy Biz LOTR: Aragorn
Toy Biz LOTR: Gandalf Stormcrow

Subtotal: $59.92
Shipping: $6.69
Tax: $0.00

Pretty sure the JLU 3-packs and the Toy Biz LOTR were 7.99 each, and the Palz was 3.99...

At that time I was still mostly buying stuff in stores when I had within 5 minutes of me a TRU, KayBee, Target and Walmart....
Man, you made me so sad with that. Decided to go back and look and the very first thing I ever ordered in my account was in 2005, and it was the Toy Biz Marvel Legends Sinister, Omega Red, and Mystique--37.97 grand total.

...subsequent purchases were the SOTA Toys The Thing Kennel Set for 22 bucks, NECA Pirates of the Caribbean wave 2 for 45 bucks, and the original NECA TMNT releases for 54.99.

And again, range of 8.29-10 for shipping.

Son of a bitch, we had it so good.

"We don't collector-shame in this house!" I've learned if I whisk it off the porch without anyone noticing, then technically only the bank and I know I ever got it. For the delivery company I'm already off the radar. Which reads somewhat like the "Girl Math" I've heard where if you return something you've made money.
My partner and I have separate accounts for everything. She stress shops, I buy nerd stuff for the dopamine, we PRETEND we don't notice how many boxes come to the house, and we just make sure the bills are paid. This does not prevent me from running boxes from the front steps to my office when she's not looking just to make it feel less overloading.

Until the day that she said to me something along the lines of "I know you think I don't see all the shit you get. You think I don't see all the packaging and cardboard going to the recycling bin?". I remained "ignorant", of course.

It's the damned recycling bin that rats us both out EVERY TIME. Only difference is she has fewer, bigger boxes and I have all those tiny fucking boxes they love to ship single action figures in.

Huh. My first order was only in 2017. I got back into action figure collecting late.

DC Comics Icons 6" Batgirl of Burnside Deluxe Figure (BBTS Mint): 39.99

I really loved the DC Icons line. I think that's been my favorite failed DC line so far. And for years I only used BBTS for MOTU, some Mythic Legions, and the occasional import.

I like going through past orders once in a while, it's a fun trip down memory lane! Same w/Entertainment Earth - I used to order a lot from them when their warehouse was in my neighborhood (no shipping!)

My first order w/BBTS was in my earlier 1/6 days of collecting:

My first order, apparently. Don't anybody take my order # and try and cause any trouble with it, now, ya hear?

That was a solid wave! Must have been a late bday present to myself.

Here's the thing with that:

I always felt the same way. My wife and I have separate accounts and a joint account. All of my toy purchases come from my account, obviously.

But I always figured that if I just ordered from my account, got to it when it was delivered before she could, I was golden.

Until the day that she said to me something along the lines of "I know you think I don't see all the shit you get. You think I don't see all the packaging and cardboard going to the recycling bin?". I remained "ignorant", of course.

"Whaaat? What are you talking about??"

"Uh-huh. Amazing how you're 'Always selling stuff', but your shelves are never empty".

So either she was calling me bluff, or...like J. Cole says--she Knows, dun dun dun, she knows...

Show her your Ebay account. If it's anything like mine it's replete with stuff that hasn't moved yet. Oh it'll move eventually sometime in the next 2-5 years. But as I say "Always Selling, Never Selling Out."

In other news I've considered just buying a plot of land and putting one of those steel framed buildings you see on tv that people use for classic cars and making THAT my toy room. I could probably build a "loft/office" with a kitchen and a shower and basically live in my cave like middle aged manchild Batman. All my friends say "how are you gonna sleep with your car in the living room?" My response is always "the same way Bruce Wayne does."

One doesn't need a lot of money to make dreams happen, one just needs ENOUGH money.

Heh. I got caught in that Cornerstore Comics fraud thing too, back in the day. I remember being so impatient for DCUC and Signature Series before it that I would DRIVE to the OC to grab the cases. Ahhh, those were the days.

Yes…they were the goto for a lot of collectors at the height of DCUC’s popularity. I’m pretty sure I got my case of DCUC 8 (and by extension, my complete Giganta C&C) and my DCUC naked Cheetah (which I sold for something ridiculous like $200 to $300) from them. There weren’t many reliable sources for preordering back then.

I also remember the issues with the fraudulent card charges, although I didn’t have any myself. I think I had stopped using them when DCUC became more readily available at retail and also switched banks by then.

Dorkside was a good business that just either couldn’t or wouldn’t do the right thing when business went bad. I think opening up that retail location really hurt them.
Selling my DCUC figures back then paid for our wedding. Legitimately. I made thousands off of 10 series. Granted, we went out of pocket for a lot of it, but that sale paid for the hall for our reception, and the catering. Crazy what they went for back then.
