And the winner of the 2025 Best Figure of the Year Award goes to...

1. Gamerverse Captain America-my all time favorite superhero on a bigger torso with butterfly shoulders and perfect colors. Other Cap accessories like the 20th Steve Rogers head can be used with him too. Easy number 1 for me.
2. Maximum Spider-Man-Best Spidey figure I have ever owned
3. Rom-'Nuff Said.
4. She-Hulk-both Regular and F.F.
5. Titania

These five have brought me the most joy this year by far.

I probably picked up more Legends this year than in previous years combined but as far as a top 5 goes:
  1. X-Men '97 Sentinel - the giant murder robot I've always wanted
  2. The Blob - after getting Mystique and Destiny, I figured what the hell and glad I did, I love this big, beefy bastard
  3. Quantumania Cassie/Stature - she's awesome, really glad I took a chance on some rando seller
  4. Rachel Summers - like Robo, I've wanted her for a long time and wasn't going to pass up the chance
  5. Banshee - big fan of the All New, All Different crew so was pretty made up to get my boy
Honourable mentions to '97 Emma and Mystique, and Born Again Frank.

Deathbird and AoA Gambit are probably my standouts. I really like Gamerverse Cap, Wolverine, and Juggernaut a lot. Fabian Cortez was great as well. I was so happy to get a Basketball Gambit after all these years of assuming I'd have to make my own. I can work with the torso swap or cover it up despite its shortcomings. I keep wanting to say red and white Angel, but I think that was last year. Overall I was happiest to get a decent 90s Psylocke even if she wasn't entirely perfect, she was 85% there. The 97 Emma Frost was another standout once I finally got one that didn't have some sort of major defect.

The 97 Sentinels are great except for the price. But I'm still tempted to buy one more.

The winner of the 2025 Best Figure of the Year Award?

There can be only one!

I kinda want to know what the fuck a Rom the Spaceknight is even supposed to be, but then I'm kind of afraid someone will tell me.

It’s a fantastic, fun-filled blend of superheroes, Star Wars, and a bit of the chivalric literary knightly quest tradition, set against the classic “aliens among us” sci-fi trope, set within the Marvel Universe circa 1979-1986 or so.

I think it’s tremendous.

But like... what is he? Why does he have a big Transformers chest and head but spandex-clad arms and upper legs?

For the same reason that the Cylons did in th original Battlestar Galactica…..“¯\_(ツ)_/¯ “ that’s what aliens are supposed to look like in the 70’s?

Oh, sorry, I get you now.

He's a Galadorian male (Galadorians are for all intents and purposes Homo sapiens) who sacrificed half of his physical humanity in order to become a super-advanced cyborg warrior known as a Spaceknight. Galadorian technology is, as is most extra-terrestrial tech, much more advanced than Earth technology; thus the unique armor/physical appearance. He's not a robot; he's a cyborg.

Edit: Or you can just read Stoopid_Sandwich's reply, which is more concise and probably a better answer. :)

This is why:

That’s not my endorsement, mind you. I always thought his arms and legs were weird in the comic.

That's an excellent explanation, thanks. I guess I could have Googled it or read a Wiki or whatever, but hearing it from actual fans of the material is a lot more satisfying to me. What else are these communities for.
To be fair, you make the whole thing sound WAY cooler than it actually looks to me.
