I think 50+ characters means some will be fridged pretty quickly. Would be amazing if like the true Marvel crossover events we would get a bunch of one-shots on D+ that flesh out whatever is going on in the film with the side characters.

I question if TRU would have survived no matter what. Online specialty retailers and general retailers (Walmart, Target) have really killed specialty big box stores for toys, books, music, etc., compared to their heyday.

I have Minimates from at least a dozen properties - BSG, Ghostbusters, Aliens, T2 in particular. They did a lot of fun lines during the years for things no one else was doing in figure form, at least with not as much character depth.

Probably? I sort of lost track of Minimates after TRU closed as I tended to buy them there in the heyday, but who knows how much of things winding down was the general state of DCD/DST not being able to pay for anything, including production.

An interesting question is what will happen to the DST molds, designs, etc. I think ownership reverts to the license holder, which is how Hasbro got to use some of ToyBIz's molds during the switch.

I think I notice it more for characters who are part of groups/teams. Odin seems too big to me when next to most Thors and Lokis - which is why I didn't care for it, he can be big but Thor is already meant to be imposing himself. Hulk can be huge because that is his whole thing, being huge...

Yeah, I have not been happy with the hugeness they have been going for from Odin to Juggernaut and so on lately. He makes Medusa look like a teenager/child almost.
