    Hasbro possibly doing Tron?

The thing is Kenner Star Wars (and secondarily Micronauts) killed dead the soft goods boys 12" and 8" dolls that were the main action figures at the time. Classic Joe was just about dead (that also had cultural headwinds at that point). Action man dead. Mego - which was the main game in town for...

    Hasbro possibly doing Tron?

Kenner Star Wars was hugely successful in 1:18, as was the Micronauts, in the late 70's and early 80's. But both of those were also vehicle and playset heavy. But Star Wars being such a huge seller made the 1:18 scale pretty popular. Before that you had things like GI Joe, Captain Action and...

    Nippon Adventures - D13 Toys

Softgoods are always tough to do well at the 1:12 scale (works better when it isn't trying to look like tailored clothes), but in hand I generally liked the robes - robes having no hope of being done well sculpted in plastic and allowing for posing.

    Nippon Adventures - D13 Toys

I checked and like Biblical Adventures they will connect everything to source material/paintings/artwork - which I appreciate, it really helps with the context and the design decisions. D13 wants to use this to get the female buck made, as they will be reusing the male buck from BA. Then the...

    Funko nearing bankruptcy

I don't think they blend in with anything but themselves, but neither do bobbleheads, or Mego figures, or minifigs (Legos/Miminates/Palz/Kubricks) or gaming miniatures, or toy soldiers - they all really only work with each other. For me that's a strength - adds variety if one shelf or cubicle...

They have a Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/nipponadventures - that has very nice shots of the protos posted today.

    Hasbro possibly doing Tron?

I do think there was more of difference even 10 years ago than now let alone that some of us recall the 20th century when 5 point articulation and minimal paint was the norm for 1:18 scale. That style was (and still is) cheap - when 1:12 scale took off it was a vastly different product in terms...

This Insta has a few pics of some protos from LegionCon - shows the female buck, and many heads/faces and a few yokai - kind of hard to see though (I had seen a better set of pics but can't find them now).

    Hasbro possibly doing Tron?

Agreed about the expense in making 1:18 vs 1:12 is likely not that great anymore - materials and shipping (smaller weight and volume) are the only real advantage for 1:18 in terms of cost. Some of that is the expectations for the 1:18 scale in terms of paint and detail has increased. And, for...

    Funko nearing bankruptcy

This plus store exclusives, it shouldn't be that much work to know what is even available. I was getting the Md Max Fury Road POPs and a few times was surprised something existed. I like them, they cover some properties no one else is doing at times, and could go kind of deep as well in terms...

    Funko nearing bankruptcy

I do think they put out so many POPs that it is hard to keep track - they could have properties you never knew about or saw - if you were a Funko POPs collector you may have known, but if you were, say, a Twin Peaks fan you might never have known they made that.

    General Marvel Legends

I think many collectors believe that their collection has (or will have) monetary value above what they paid for it and is therefore something of an investment (or at least that is what they tell themselves to justify their purchases - to both themselves and their significant others). Now that...

Yeah, it is weird how often it seems like action figure manufacturers seem to have this conversation - Decision Maker 1 - "Wow, customers seem really happy that we are predictably and logically releasing figures to build teams and collections!" Decision Maker 2 - "Well, I'll be damned if...

Kind of intrigued by these re-releases. Don't need any so far, but I am all for it if it means they don't have to come up with questionable variations of heavy hitters in some waves.

An Egyptian god line could be very cool, I had totally missed Anubis and Bastet, but now have the retailer version on order at BBTS. I really need to get Ganesha and hope that becomes a retailer version as well - will match well with the Legends of the Ramayan figures.

    Continuing my MCU rewatch

I assumed that Agatha did that. But they never fully state that. The implication was that Agatha lived there before Wanda moved in, I think that was part of the plan to get her here, to maybe fake that Vision had done this. I think that was more an editing issue when they decided to obscure...
