NECA - General Thread

I opened up the new Munster figures from NECA today. Honestly, some of their best work. I really like the artwork on the packaging even. Normally I’m not into expensive heads but they fit and work so well on Herman and Grandpa. They really captured the fun of the show with these sculpts. I would even mind a couple of variants if it meant new heads and expressions. I’m really hoping we see more of the family at Toy Fair this weekend. Lilly and Eddie at least. Marilyn would be the hard sell but maybe both likenesses and some good accessories might help.

Looks like we're getting some kind of reveal on Friday related to this tease, maybe even an order window? Curious where they're going with this. Maybe an update of the old 25th Anniversary set or another accessory/diorama pack. My dream is that they're going to hit one of my bucket list figures and make Ginny from Part 2. I'll rebuy Sackhead Jason if that's what it takes to get a figure of her.

Another possibility - maybe this comes with the Savini Computer Game Jason? The shrine figured prominently in the game.
 
Poor Marilyn- so distressingly unattractive that even toy collectors don't want her. 🤪 I mean, even DST threw in Marilyn and Eddie together. I think most folks know that, in a show where the whole shtick is the silly monsters, a basic white lady in a dress is a bit boring. She's a crucial part of the family, though, so at the very least, like others have said, maybe they go the Beetlejuice Sandworm route and make her a pack-in with Spot and the staircase or something.

Regarding the Friday Shrine, I'm sort of expecting it to just be released on its own, like the Alien Romulus suspended Big Chap set. But I'd love to be proven wrong on that!
 
Yeah, I think it's probably going to be the core part of another accessory set, which is fine with me because I have and love the first one. But if ever there was a way to make the best Final Girl in the series viable at retail...Hell, she could even be largely Ms. Voorhees reuse, considering the impersonation scene.
 
I've still got the old diorama piece from the boxed set, so best case for me would be this thing on its own to avoid any temptation to "re-buy" it... :)

For me, when you have that schtick, Marilyn becomes amusing because she's the outlier. It's like having April with the turtles or Gordon for your Batman family. Just ties it all together.

Has there been any word or movement on the predator stuff?

Same. I've had it displayed for years, and just replaced the figures that came with it when the Ultimate figures came out. This may have a slightly different base, but the main part of the altar looks identical, so I can safely pass on this one.
 
NECA Penguin was a surprise. I know they've been re-releasing some of the older 1/4 scale DC figures from back in the day, but it feels like ages since they've released any new stuff. I'm still not really into the 8" cloth figures, but I may have to bite this time around. Doubt they'll ever get around to any others, at least any time soon, but I like DeVito Penguin enough to have just him.

Target's been getting some old, old restocks lately. Planet of the Apes Caesar, and now Alien Queen. Plenty of others I'm forgetting too, I'm sure. Don't know if NECA made more, or if this is just super super old stock they found somewhere.
 
I stand corrected. Wish they'd re-solicit some others, like the normal Vasquez. I know likeness rights are an issue, of course, but they re-released the BDUs one for Alien Day last year. Fingers crossed for this year.

I'm tempted to grab the Queen, only because I've seen what she can go for on the secondary market. But also, I have to be honest with myself and say that I probably don't have the room. Would I make the room? Yeah, probably. But at what cost?

Retro Cloth, but they did release 2 versions of a 1/4 scale a while back. I think one even got a slight re-release recently. Or at least I saw him spring up a couple times.

Now that I think about it, I wonder how that 8" coat would look on the McFarlane figure. I know they're totally different scales, so it would probably be hella big, but I wonder how big. Enough that a little tweaking could make it look alright?
