Marvel Legends Maximum Series

Really love this Maximum Thor! My favorite Thor costume, and he looks great. I wanted a soft goods cape so that Thor can get into dynamic stances. I hope the hair won’t get in the way. Love the face options. I’m going to be tempted to buy more than one of this Thor for different setups.

So this Thor is only an updated version of the RML Thor.
I just watched again twice the segment with Thor and Dwight said Thor himself has a lot of new updates as well, he comes with stuff. Plus Dwight says it's one of those ones that I didn't realize I needed an update to. He was the figure that we used back in 2012 for the RML.

I owe Hasbro an apology for this one. When they released the Herald Thor a few years back, I threw a fit. I was certain they'd reuse it for a Coipel Thor. Not only is this a new sculpt, but it looks damn-near perfect. It has everything the wonderful 2011 figure lacked: double-jointed elbows, ankle rockers, a reasonable scale (let's assume), and A WIRED CAPE.

If I were cutting my collection down to a fraction of its current size, this guy would immediately make the cut. He's a must-have.
It's just "weapons on your back is COOOOL" even though it very much the fuck is not.
Respectfully, one of your worst takes. I truly don't give a fuck whether it's practical. You know what else isn't practical? A big fucking anime sword. Doesn't matter. A big-ass anime sword strapped to someone's back is as good as peanut butter and chocolate.

the hammer is comically large
This is my only problem with the figure. The whole thing with Mjolnir is that Thor can't wrap two hands around it. This Mjolnir's handle is so long it nearly qualifies as a sledgehammer.

Likely would have passed if this had been classic Thor.
Agreed! between the 80th and Ragnarock Thor I'm pretty happy with classic options.

as said by others...
It’s an update in the sense that it’s the same costume, but it’s a 100% new figure.

Herald Thor is not a favorite of mine... I think I just stuck it in a box somewhere so yeah, there was nothing they should reuse on that one, but this will happily replace the 2011 figure.

A very nice update indeed... and I think the big surprise for me... of everything revealed I'm most excited for this Thor!

I'm just looking forward to this Thor making Iron Man his bitch several times over like he did in the comics after Tony stole his DNA and made the Ragnorok abomination of him that killed Goliath.

Thor really has had some great modern runs. If you haven't, I'd definitely recommend reading Jason Aaron's run.
You kidding me? His run with Dauterman is top-notch! Got me to buy Dauterman's kicksterstarter art book. 100% agree that is should be recommended reading for any Thor fan. Hell, if you're not a Thor fan, read it and you may be after this.

Oh, and his Mangog was superb! Really want a MTO Legends of him.

I also picked up Dauterman's Kickstarter. So far I have his and Mike Allred's. The Aaron Thor run is what introduced me to Russell Dauterman's work, which is impeccable.

I can't remember if I got the stickers as part of my package, but I definitely got the trading cards that were designed as an homage to Jim Lee's first series of X-Men trading cards. I still haven't loaded them into the sleeves. Got the same for Mike Allred.

None of the Thor portraits really say "Thor" to me. Also, the hair looks really bad - the strands are super thick and do look like Play-Doh. Thor with bangs is definitely a choice - this hair looks like He-Man. Kinda hate it. Hasbro has been on such a good run with great hairsculpts lately, too, so this is a bummer.

Also, they still couldn't give a proper hair flying sculpt so he can actually look UP. Disappointing.

I appreciate the hand with the hammer sculpted on. That makes sense. If his hair could also look good flying.

I thought the just-paint lower discs on his tunic looked bad but that appears to be accurate. They forgot to Photoshop them on for the back of the box.

Throg is cool, but even technically calling it a two-pack is BS.

I'd say the effort here is definitely better than Deadpool, but still not getting Maximum vibes.
