I always assumed the idea was there was like a harness/cradle attached to his back under his cape. But also like... why? It's just "weapons on your back is COOOOL" even though it very much the fuck is not.

I prefer him wearing it at his side. Which, to give points where due, is something the 2012 ML figure can achieve and this one apparently cannot.

So what's the opinion of the Thor experts on this one? I think it looks cool. Might be the Thor I want. But is there anything inaccurate?

I do not love the hair sculpt on this new one and the hammer is comically large, but as a JMS/Coipel Thor fan, I'm looking forward to him.

The faces just make it look like He-Man dressed up as Thor to me. It was nice of them to at least include the frog. I dunno why they couldn't include a spinning hammer effect.

That's actually my one not-fiddly complaint; giving us that stupid Frog instead of a spinning hammer effect. One of the two things I actually need for my THOR figure. The other I do not need at all, let alone as a necessity item with Thor.

To me, Thor has always looked like He-Man, so...

I love the hammer on his back detail. I agree that I found it a little goofy in the comic at first, but I eventually came to like it and it's the exact kind of attention to detail I like to see in my figures.

I had the volume way down (at work), so I figured it was for his mead. Thor loves his drinky drink.

I came back from Iceland with a horn that works as a vessel for drinks, includes a holster for it as well. I highly recommend it.

Yeah, well, OK if we are bragging, I actually have three, and they are all bigger than yours...and from rarer, nearly extinct animals....and they were cut off the beasts by virgin milkmaids and given to me by the chieftain for saving their village.

But having just two for "fun" is cute too.

I'm a fan of all things Thor so this is a buy and a great upgrade to the 2011 version. Not sure I like the the hair or any of the face sculpts... the smiling one is right out as he looks buffoonish...

Likely would have passed if this had been classic Thor. I very much like this and it will be my first Maximum ML figure.
