Born on the cob
That's where I'm at too. Is it the most interesting looking figure? Not really, but it's quite well made, and is undoubtedly fun. The humanoid look definitely comes off a bit odd, and limits what they can do- he doesn't have a long tongue, so they can't add one to make it a little more interesting. I don't think I'll ever display him with the closed mouth- it's just a little too uncanny for me, but the open mouth expression is nice and helps break up the sculpt. Part of my love for him may be finally seeing everyone together at last; maybe he wouldn't hold up so well on his own, but as a group, it looks great. My only real nit is the lack of bendy tail; other than that, I quite like him.Now that I have Lizard out of the box, this might be the biggest swing in "I shouldn't have bothered preordering, what was I thinking" to "THIS FIGURE IS SO FUN" I've had in a while. He's just a blast to pose! My only gripe has nothing to do with the toy and all to do with the uncanny valley nature of the movie's design for his face, and that I wish he had something between passive/blank and mouth open yelling for a face sculpt, maybe an angry or gritted teeth version. But otherwise, this is such a goofily fun figure to mess with. I really like him.
Talks on Dan's X re a ML reveal tomorrow - my $$$ is on F4 reveal finally!
It's a safe bet; the descriptor for the event says something along the lines of "It's gonna be a big one, and you're gonna want the whole team". Since Funko just showed off their Fantastic 4 stuff, I assume Hasbro's been given the okay too. Wonder if "big one" means they'll show off the rumored Galactus too, or if they're just referring to the Thing. Either way, I'm excited to see them; hope we won't have to wait until December or so to actually have them in hand!
