McFarlane DC Multiverse

“I’ve grown accustomed to her face!”

The face in question:

Got Jay and the Collector wave today. Mini review follows:

Jay Garrick. Love the WWII deco. Nearly perfect except they didn’t paint his hair brown. Still blonde like the original.

Zatanna. Pretty damn good. But mine has loose hair. Need a little superglue to hold it in place.

Elongated Man. Nice looking figure. Great head sculpt. I wish he had some non Plastic Man parts, but whatever. Getting ever so close to a complete Satellite JLA.

Prof. Pyg. Disturbing. But I’m sure that’s what they were going for.

Cosmic Boy. I’m kinda neutral on this one.

Blackhawk. Another stand up home run. He’s perfect. I truly love the GA greats.

Detective Chimp. What can I say? The world is a better place with him in it.

For a while I wondered whether Pyg had any relation to Abner from The Dark Knight Returns. Calling Abner's flying, talking, exploding robot dolls "Dollotrons" makes a lot more sense than calling Pyg's zombies by that name.

Also in the unlikely event I ever get to write a Batman comic I am absolutely bringing Abner into the mainstream continuity.

I guess I never really considered how close Pyg and Dollmaker are in their shtick. Surprised Todd never made a Dollmaker figure, either- it feels right up his alley, at least the more modern, flesh mask wearing one.

Not McFarlane-related, but whatever con Funko is at this weekend- London Toy Fair, maybe? seems to have some product from Clayface and Lanterns that they're showing off in their secret room. Obviously cameras aren't allowed, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some product leak anyway, so just be careful online if you're hoping to avoid spoilers.

It stuck with me when Carrie said the dude was sweaty and smelled like milk.

I know it's old news at this point, but I just received Scarecrow yesterday, and does anyone else have a problem getting him to stand?

Even with the stand, he likes to topple over. The feet and legs don't seem to plant flat.
