General Marvel Legends

Lifeguard and Slipstream are SO far down the list - like I'm talking after Petra and Sway and all of the X-Academy/New X-Men kids and Micromax and the like... but still, eventually I would want them

Fuckin' A right she would be.
Yukio should have been in the Wolverine 5-pack a few years ago, or released last year in the Wolverine 50th line-up. They have that MCU Katy body right there, though it needs better feet so it can stand.

Lifeguard reminds me of a character I created because I thought the X-Men needed a blonde - Emma was still Gen X-ing at this time.

Found this custom on Reddit - clean work!

I suspect Yukio isn't made because its a boring figure because she's just a lady in a black leather suit.

And Katy? That figure could work for Mariko maybe, but never Yukio... Yukio has never worn a kimono or dress in any appearance as far as I know.

I was just, like, an hour ago looking at Classified Akiko from the Snake Eyes movie thinking "who could this be other than the character she actually is?" And maybe she'd work as Mariko in a pinch?

I'm such a massive X-anything fan and Lifeguard and Slipstream were never even on my radar, like at all. Completely didn't even exist in my brain and didn't realize it til just now.

Whoops, my bad. I don't think I've ever even heard of Yukio, outside of a character I do not remember from a Wolverine movie and then I didn't make the connection to the Deadpool version.

I was thinking Mariko.

It boils down to I Didn't Want It, which is fair, but these days everyone thinks they're the main character.
This often crosses my mind regarding influencers. By and large, they don't visit places like this. The great thing about forums is how they're democratized. (You'll remember that Magik failed to crack last year's Marvel Legends Top 10 despite my considerable efforts.)

With influencers, everything is filtered upward. Either conversations with their own fans or conversations with other influencers. It's Yes-Men all the way down. It's the ultimate echo chamber.

I could go on a 6,000-word rant about how algorithmic social media has done this to all of us, but nobody—including me—wants that.

I only think of Yukio as "Storm's human friend" that's basically a Japanese punk/biker chick from when Gambit and Storm fought the Phalanx for the first time and Gambit got the entity to absorb his motorcycle (and its gas tank) before he detonated it with a playing card.

I know she's associated with Wolverine, I've just never seen her have any dealings with him aside from the second Wolverine film.

As for X-Treme X-Men, they were my preferred book during the whole Morrison "re-imagining." I know people claim they're cringe-inducing, but alternately the Morrison costumes consisted of turtlenecks, just as much black leather and Emma's zip-up diaper. So I preferred the more colorful options X-Treme had for costumes. I'd take a Gambit, Psylocke and Storm from that era. Never really was a fan of Rogue's red/black wetsuit with glasses. Tessa / Sage always seemed more like a guest-star in that book more than a full member of the team itself. While I like Beast and Bishop in those books, I don't need those looks and more than I need tentacle Callisto that followed shortly after. Don't need Vargas the Spanish swordsman (I assume Larocca's input). They can make Thunderbird III, Slipstream and Lifeguard but they'd be the ones I wait a year or two for on steep discount. While I like Xorn conceptually, I don't even think I'd really need him either, since he was from around the same time frame that X-Treme was running.

So basically 4 looks from X-Treme I'd actually buy to go with the X-Treme Logan we already have. Of the "Revolution" Era that came just before with designs by Leinel Francis Yu, I'd probably only opt for the armored Archangel look just for novelty, as I need even fewer looks from that era (I'm looking at you bug-eyed goggle and backpack Beast and "Pirate Psylocke").

I'd prefer the original (non-Bendis) O5 looks, and maybe just an X-Treme character peppered in here and there like they did with Logan.
