Not historical fiction of course but I watched 47 Samurai for the first time a few weeks back and had a similar reaction to the way Hiroyuki Sanada steals the whole damned movie from Keanu is wild. Dude really is an incredible presence anywhere he shows up.

I loved that movie. One of my low key really good films people don't talk about. The Netflix sequel was garbage.
