I wouldn’t consider this a drastic improvement unless you really hate the SDCC box set version. I think in most people’s cases, it’s an availability issue, not quality. This fills a hole that might still be in a lot of people’s collections. It’s the same body as Angel. The wings are cumbersome and unwieldy. He comes with alternate fists and open clawed hands, and a neutral head and a screaming head. I don’t have the original handy to compare paint jobs, but I won’t be displaying this with those really old figures. He hopefully will match Warpath and X-23, though I believe they are sporting grey, not silver. This design fits better with the X-23 pack than the Remender Uncanny group. Opena’s version of Archangel looked different.I wasn't going to order this (or the Warpath/X-23 set) based on my new rule of not buying re-dos unless they're drastic improvements...I failed. Twice.
Yeah, this kills me. Mine just arrived (like, literally two minutes ago) and I haven't opened it yet, but I can tell from the pics I'm gonna hate these wings. Such a big huge amount of flat gray. Bleh.I hate that they charge a premium for this but couldn’t be bothered to use the same silver paint as the last version.

I also hate that we’re getting redos of characters on bigger bodies that don’t match any of their other looks. It’s a pet peeve of mine. It smacks of planned obsolescence and continues to highlight the lack of diversity in the parts library.

I agree with the above, I just wasn't sure what you specifically meant with "bigger bodies."Neither. I just don’t like the same character on drastically different bodies/physiques. It bothers me and I am aware that is a personal preference, but it exists. I hate when too many characters all share the same body, too. The oversaturation of Bucky cap is not solved by just oversaturating the Vulcan body.
I'm somewhat surprised to hear this. Not that they're cumbersome and unwieldy, but that they're any worse than the original wings. The originals are huge and a pain to manipulate. The wings are cumbersome and unwieldy.
I'm exactly the same. Unless the figure is based on different artists take on a character but usually I like figures of characters to look like it's the same person in a different outfit.Neither. They’re long, so they get in the way of a neutral standing pose. They have weird spots for pivots and hinges. Not sure what the goal was for their placement. I can get him to almost close around his body, but did he ever pose like that? Can’t really get a wide horizontal wing span from him. The smaller set of wings can be positioned on the outside or closer to his body, but have to be removed to do so. I’m not sure what’s correct. He’s not going to make it into my main display, he just takes up too much space. They’re awkward for sure.I'm somewhat surprised to hear this.
