Four Horsemen Studios Mythic Legions

That non-red-eyed human head is what'll sell me on him as a non-exclusive with fewer pieces later. I don't necessarily need more anonymous, faceless knights, but if I feel like there's a person in there I tend to buy them. IIRC the last and curent waves I only bought knights with faces.

Kinda unimpressed with the stock they're showing off for the upcoming in-stock sale, but I think it's just because I've gotten good at only buying what I want, but also making sure to buy the ones I know I want the first time. More targeted Mythic Legions collecting but less all or nothing so I make sure I don't too much.

Yeah, that's not a very exciting in-stock lineup, a lot of those early Cosmic Legion figures are still on sale at BBTS. And speaking of exclusives, happy to see ATL available so soon. I'll probably grab him and the lady TU5CC I never picked up.

They really need to start pumping out more Skeleton Legion builder 2 figures and making them available. The Graveyard Skeletons are nice but I really like the coloring on that legion builder and would grab a bunch more, especially at that $26 price point. I do not believe I'm alone in this.

I much prefer the Skeleton Legion Builder 2 color to the graveyard color. I didn't pull the trigger quick enough on it and lost out on it. Making a Legion Builder so limited was an odd choice. Especially when they made such a big deal about the skeleton colors matching for so many of their new skeleton figures. Then they make the single Legion Builder limited and then offer up white skeletons to everyone else. Just an odd couple of choices. My graveyard skeleton 4pk is on the way from BBTS. May try to paint/ink one to see if I can dirty or yellow/brown one up a bit.

I just skimmed over this video and they show off the bear a bit more. Think it's a factory sample although something minor about it will change. Like the size of it. And also like the movement in the neck.

Welp, no surprises with the in-stock sale — other than the armory blind box sets selling out incredibly fast. Like in 2 or 3 minutes. I'm guessing there wasn't a limit and someone grabbed a bunch.

Yeah, nothing crazy there. I always wanted to be able to use both heads on the Xylernian guard so I might scoop one of those up, but otherwise, not a lot of exciting options.

I tried buying two of the Armory blind sets, and they sold out while my payment was processing. Pissed me off, so I walked away from the sale. I'm not really a fan of how they offered these Armory knights anyway. They each should have had a 2nd head, which is something almost every figure since the initial Kickstarter has had. These are troop builder figures. Give them at least an alternate head (and maybe alternate shoulder armor) for some variety. Especially as they're higher priced figures. Hell, they each could have been deluxe builder figures. Seems like that would have made sense for the concept. But these blind sets? I should have known there was going to be trouble when the 4H didn't answer when I asked if there would limits on the blind sets, and they didn't respond. So an item they have a limited amount of and they don't put a quantity limit on it. They make the most bizarre decisions sometimes. If I was able to get any of the blind sets, I potentially may have even bought more of the Armory figures to use with the parts. No blind sets, no further Armory figures for me.

I do hope their next go around of Armory figures have at least 2nd heads packed into them.

Other than the Armory blind set fiasco, nothing much interests me in this sale. I'm tempted by the Cosmic Legions ATL-25 figure. I think it's kind of a neat looking Colonial Marines or Halo 3 UNSC Marine. Limited to 1:per person (see, they can set limits afterall) in the first 24hrs, so I'll see if any are left on the 2nd day and potentially I'll buy a few.

Ganesha is also tempting. I passed on his first sale period. I'm not totally in love with it, but I do like the idea of building up some mythological characters. I have the first two Egyptians and Ganesha could be an interesting companion for them.

I have a couple of their horses and the black / dark gray one is my favorite I've seen it side by side with a 5ktoys horse and like the Legions one better for a lower price. The 5k one has "real" hair for the tail if that's important to you though.

I have the brown horse Balius and the flaming horse. They're both about the same, and they're both the best horses I have. The only others I have are two from McFarlane--the Roach horse from Witcher, and the build-a-horse from Dark Knight Returns--plus I have the bootleg Venomized horse that someone in China recently released that's modeled after the horse in Venom: the Last Dance.

None of them have as much articulation as I'd like a horse to have, but the Mythic Legions definitely have the best. I mostly want them to have more neck range. A real horse can turn its head completely backwards and bite a rider's feet or legs if they want to--my mom used to have about a dozen horses and I've seen them do that--but none of my toy horses can angle their heads more than 20 to 30 degrees or so to the side. The ML horses have that 20 to 30 degree neck range, and none of my others have even that much.

The relationship between Four Horsemen and BBTS is so strange to me. Just got a notification that BBTS has a Mythic Legions sale and it's almost all the same figures, and they're just price matching Store Horsemen. But given they always have cheaper shipping, might be worth going with them anyway minus their usual price hike if anyone's looking. They've got a few stray figures not included in the 4H sale.

Jermey said they gave their retailers the go ahead to lower their prices to match these preorder prices for these figures.

I dig it. Usually their in-stock sales sell out so fast that I can't imagine they'd previously hurt sales for their retail partners, but it seems like newer waves are lingering a bit longer and I could see the retailers being like "aw crap" with sales like this particular one.

I like the 4H horse MUCH more than the 2 I got from McFarlane's lines.
I have the brown, the Headless Horseman set, the horse with the bat helmet, the moose,, the Centaur, 3 black /grey (and just ordered a 4th from BBTS to complete a matching set of horses for my NECA TMNT 3 turtles). The horse I just ordered this evening from BBTS already has a shipment notice.

That makes sense. I know some retailers are struggling to move through their mythic legion stock nowadays. The one local store near me that would get them has stopped ordering the new waves because they have so many just sitting in the store.

I think a few of the previous waves were over ordered. There was a "PO or else" vibe coming out of COVID from a lot of companies, and a lot of FOMO being generated by discussions online. I think that's largely died down, now, across the board. It was very much a sellers market for a few years. Now the market is oversaturated with good stuff to get excited about, yet people have less money in their pocket because of inflation.

I paid retail - like $75 for the dark grey horse and $50 or so for Duban, but could have saved $40 by waiting for the various sales and re-releases. I really wanted the Elf Ranger and wound up I think getting him for $75 from someone on the Cabal, which wasn't too bad, only to wind up at NYCC last year and seeing stacks of them selling for $37 at a 4H approved retailer at the con. I was surprised, but I guess there are still boxes of these stashed away. Almost every figure I paid above suggested retail, including Black Series, I've always found later - at sub retail. Not too mention all of the NECA Haulathon drops, of which 95% would wind up on Aliexpress or Best Buy on sale 8 months later. So now when I feel FOMO, it feels like the boy who cried wolf.

That said, I don't know about recent and future waves, like Necronomicus, if Brian Flynn was being honest when he said companies are producing much less. There are some figures I'd pick up if they were $37, but that I don't feel hungry enough to spend $50 plus shipping on.

On the topic of the horses, though, I think $55 for ML's Borius is a very good deal. If you do want more articulation, though, the Fish Toys version has a lot more range, including the ability to lay/sit down. I have the white one on the way. They are also releasing a very cool armor set for it, as well.

Anyone ever hear an update and the cool Griffin mount D20/Fish toys was working on a while back? I think it was originally slated for release last year but I can't find anything on it since the original PO announcement.
