Marvel Legends Gamerverse

Omg thats bragging, its you, you're the problem! Jk jk jk

From what we know, Marvel is incredibly strict about their merchandise which has impacted Legends pricing, marketing and character selection/availability. On the subject of the internal Slack conversations, I'm willing to bet the Marvel feedback on where the KITH branding would be was a point of hot contention. I'd bet Dan worked his ass off to make this work at all, and made a ton of concessions.

But you know what I love most about this release? It sort of unofficially but officially confirms that the Jada Street Fighter line (which is the current SF line I chose to collect) is the sibling line of Legends. And I like that.
I like putting the Jada SF figures alongside my Legends (and Classifieds, actually, even if Cammy and Guile look a little short side by side with other military troops... Cammy looks like the five foot one girl at the bar you KNOW you is going to start a fight after her third drink) so this partnership kinda being like "yup, these guys go together" is pretty fun. Though nitpick-ily, I think the main release Wolverines scale better with Jada overall.

Lol yeah as with most - I also love a GI Joe/Legends team-up

Great time to be a GI Joe and Marvel fan. Expensive. But great

If someone can make money by posting YouTube videos or whatever, good for them. There's more and more AI created content every single day, so they're just as much at risk as most of the rest of us long term.
I largely agree with your post, but I don't think human audiences will ever consume AI-generated content en masse.

I have to be conscientious about how I frame this because I'm aware of how Facebook feeds look in 2025, but I don't think humans will ever self-select AI YouTube creators or movies over human creators and human-made movies. The vast majority of us won't, anyway.

I honestly think the tech backlash is coming. Some of the younger generations already think the internet is cringe. Everyone I know wishes they spent less time on their phone. I feel like the Re-Outside-ification is coming.
And Universal Basic Income will never happen.
I would be shocked if UBI doesn't happen in my lifetime. I don't think it's imminent, but I do think it's inevitable. Give it 25 years. I found this Bluesky post very encouraging:
The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.
Change doesn't happen at all, and then it happens all at once. We're due for some good news.
Honestly, even on this BOARD I feel some shame about my collection because I know I'm in a really good spot
I feel this. Consumption is gross, yet I consume.
a portion of this culture we're talking about here is racially tied
Thank you for saying the quiet part out loud. Black people, in particular, are criticized for being ostentatious with their money in ways that white families in McMansions are not.

A few weeks ago (? — time is amorphous to me now), we had a critical discussion about superhero media. Now we're having another productive discussion about consumer culture without mod intervention. Bravo. Sincerely.
