Honestly, even on this BOARD I feel some shame about my collection because I know I'm in a really good spot - I'm not rich but no kids, no student loans, multiple sources of income (not everyone can do a day job and have a side gig with the flexibility I have), partner makes enough money that if I got hit by a bus tomorrow she could live on her own without me just fine, low mortgage (at least in comparison to what folks are getting into now)... so if there's a figure I'm kinda interested in but I'm worried might sell out later, I can get it and not worry about it, or I can back a Haslab every other year, and I don't have to play clearance chicken. I also know that almost any of us are one bad year away from being homeless so I feel like an asshole just mentioning I, y'know, overpaid for some of the MTG Spidey figures.
On the branding thing though, something I'm curious about - if they had been available, I WAS curious about the Marvel figures because the logo was on the ACCESSORIES and thus could be set aside, but poor Ryu and Mega-Man have the logo slapped on them like a NASCAR driver. I wonder if the partnership deals were significantly different. I love Jada and think their Ryu and Mega-Man figures are top tier but I had ZERO interest in them because of the logo placement. That part makes me really curious about the paperwork side of things. (It would have been HILARIOUS if Ryu's HADOKEN energy ball was the logo instead.)
