McFarlane Toys General Video Games (Fallout, Diablo, etc.)

I got mad about the elite editions all over again. Asking MAFEX prices for McFarlane figures—even ones with six guns—is fucked.

Cooper Howard is sold out, huh? I can't imagine many of these will be flying off the shelves. I'll pick up the Ghoul alone because that's about a price I can stomach and he looks okay. The others look actively shoddy. Between this and the Mortal Kombat offerings this year McFarlane's feeling even more off than usual.

Off is putting it politely.

He has sucked whole ass anymore. Lazy, complacent, cheap. Like I've said elsewhere, imagine 1997 Todd seeing the Todd of today's product. He would lose his mind, and shit on it.

I just picked up my Lucy. I got two because I want to try and make Jackie from yellow jackets. I've never actually going to do that. You know how it is.

Anyway. They look much better in hand. I will open them and get back to you.

I'm just going to throw my money down that since this two pistoled character has no weapon storage, indeed lacking the very harness and holster on the box, Lucy comes back with that, more weapons, and her different hair style.

That seems so Todd to do.

It's not even worth debating if this is worth being an elite. It's not. Were the others? Yes for the paint apps and soft goods. Doom guy has no articulation. I think Lilith is a great figure. The fall out suit is chunky and came with a weapons pack. Even then they all felt a bit much but I am buying them.

But Lucy no way. Huntress has a wired cape. Face plates. Extra hands.

And the most obvious comparison you can make would be Law and Order from Classified where you get a fully articulated doggy. There are many pisses being taken by Todd at this point.

But to quote Robo, at the end of the day, owning this character does make me happy, and that's all I got.

It's such a small detail for me, but the hair being soft enough to flow when you turn the head is really nice.

I'm really happy with her. Looking forward to the rest.

Still really like Lucy.

Ranger PO came in. Had a Spider Sense moment, I decided to pass. Friend picked it up instead.

Coat prevents movement. Range of articulation itself is bad. Pistol will never fit into holster. No other weapon storage for things like knife and satchel.

Skip that one. Right across a lake.

Shockingly good likeness of Ella for a McFafrlane figure, but man, Todd's statue animals are so lazy compared to what other lines are doing right now.

I really want the ranger but he seems like a dud. I did preorder the Ghoul but that's strictly for the "owning this character will make me happy" factor. Not sure I'll go any deeper with the line unless they hit pre or post Xmas price drops.

Yeah, I pre-ordered Ghoul, but his neck looked really low on dHunter's review. Have to see in hand. Has the same coat issue, too.

Also kinda wanted Hank for the Kyle McLachlin of it all, but I can resist that particular mech look.

I'm just gonna give Lucy my spare Order for the pup. Thanks to Lucy, Steph and Lone Survivor are known quantities at least. Would be cool to get a male Vault Hunter, though.

As much as I want Fallout representation on my video game shelf, goddamn that's an ugly figure. Outside of DCUC-style hips, articulation cuts have never bothered me. Somehow, they always do on McFarlane figures. They're famous for their ankles and wrists, but even the torso and hip articulation stand out.

Still, I'm hoping these go on sale so I can excuse grabbing one. It's a good opportunity to dunk on McFarlane again. Plus, I've been charmed by Ella Purnell since season one of Yellowjackets.

If you have ideas on how to make Jackie, let me know.

Someone told me that the factory makes the cuts as they see fit. I don't know if it works like that, but it might explain it. I don't disagree. But at the same time, only game in town.
