Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

I thought Crystar was going to he the new ROM or Micronauts... toy based comic that crosses over with the Marvel Universe - Nightcrawler was in an issue...

I read ROM and Micronauts religiously. From the their first issues to their last. I loved them both. They both read like COMIC BOOKS ... not a comic book that was based on a toy line. There's a difference.

Crystar never felt like a Marvel comic to me. I'm not sure what it felt like. I just know it did nothing for me so I quit reading it after a couple of issues.
Grumpy, salty SD comics is the energy I didn't know I needed on this Friday afternoon.

Next time you're down this way, let me know and I'll introduce you to my girlfriend. She can tell you some stories about my epic hissy fits. I'm told a few of them are downright legendary.

My initial thought for both Crystar and Warbow (I had to look up the character when it was first rumored, and had forgotten once again who the character was and had to look it up again on this reveal. I suspect a year from now when I have this figure in some box of figures I mean to sell I will need to look it up again) was that why would they pick these characters but we can't get Bug or Marionette from the Micronauts who are actually from a more famous book and more integrated into the Marvel Universe?

And for all the Crystar fans out there that think I'm crapping all over your childhood, let me remind you of something. The toyline never made it past the first wave and the comic was canceled after 11 issues, never to be heard from again. Until now.

Seriously, if this property were that great do you think that would have been the case?

See? See? See, everyone? That's not so hard to understand, is it?

I hope that if you decide to quit collecting, you keep the figures you love. Just because you're not buying new stuff, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the stuff you have.

Excellent advice, Resident Trickster God (Former Master of Avatars). There is one figure I will keep with me until the day I die and that's the Composite Superman by DC Direct. I was told by Georg Brewer, a Vice President at DC, that they made that for me. Partly as a thank you for being such a loyal fan but mostly to get me to shut the fuck up and leave them alone.

Hey. I'll take it.

Anyway, it's on my desk in my den and there it shall remain. It means too much to me to ever give up.

between the knowledge and the triple posting about Warbow, you really must be his biggest fan!

I am definitely fucking getting that Phantom Rider. AMAZING to see something like that in this line. Now where the fuck is my Kylun, Hasbro?

I cannot lie. Losing out on Phantom Rider, Werewolf By Night and the Executioner hurts. I go back a long, long way with all three of those characters.

But I can't with this BAF shit anymore. I just can't. Especially not at these prices.

All Hasbro had to do was put the BAF piece with Wolverine and let Warbow sink or swim on his own. I would have been all in. But they didn't and you know why. I don't have to tell you. Wolverine will sell well regardless. It's Wolverine. You can put his hairy runt ass in a Harley Quinn costume and he'll sell. Warbow will not. He will rot on the pegs. They have to put the BAF piece with him or he'll fill up landfills everywhere, right next to the original REMCO Crystar figures.

You know it's true.

Definitely not true. SD has already told me he wants posters of Kylun set up at the old folks' home.
It's true, there's a Kylun poster framed and mounted on my wall. It's right next to photos of @Justice's reaction in his pants to seeing the Rachel reveal at comic con. Those are a keeper.

Seriously, I love Excalibur. Chris Claremont and Alan Davis. Great stuff.
