Tracking toy tariffs

That's why I say if the apocalypse ever comes, like zombies, or a Fallout situation, take me out in the first wave.

Trying to survive this bullshit is enough. Imagine tacking zombies or Ghouls on top of it? Pfft, fuck that. Put me in the dirt. I'm good.
Amy Poehler's podcast "Good Hang" is as advertised and recently she had Regina Hall on as the guest. Regina said basically what you said above and then had the further thought about a movie with her and Amy where they are trying to get killed in the zombie apocalypse and just keep failing to die.

I've been thinking about that premise for days because it cracked me up. She should make that movie, or, at the very least, incorporate it into the new Scary Movie.

There is NO way I am fending for myself in a post-apocalyptic situation.
There are several reasons why I love the owner of my LCBS. One reason is his response to people asking what he would do about finding fresh water during a societal collapse. His response is that by the time water is a concern he will have spent the last 6 months as the charnel hood ornament of a band of reavers.

Well, that’s assuming there’s enough conservatives in power (Supreme Court and Congress) to go against Trump. Congress has already bent the knee, and the Supreme Court has already almost given Trump supreme power. We haven’t seen any pushback happen yet. And just wait till the military is rolled out to “protect” elections. When the next round of elections doesn’t go Trump’s way, what will happen? Will we even know the real results?

Our only hope in the immediate future is Trump dying off (of natural causes) before then next round of elections. I don’t think anyone can keep his rapid followers in order once he’s gone.

Considering Mike Johnson is currently and actively holding our government captive because they had the votes (including from Republicans) to declassify and release the Epstein Files, I would say the strong possibility is there.

Also, as someone who knows active military, and knows people who know high ranking people-- after that little demonstration at Quantico, just know that the military, especially top brass, are NOT happy. And there are talks being had. Not like a coup type talks, but rather what will need to be done if that line is crossed. It will not go in Donny's favor, I promise you that.

You have to look at it this way: if the machinations weren't holding, then they wouldn't be doing everything in their power to try and rig it in their favor with gerrymandering, and seat stealing, etc.

This I agree with.

Has there been any luster from the president about the French president stepping down amidst his approval? I want to imagine that the fact he did that put some fear into the White House. Turns out people can be self-aware.

The problem is that it's never gone in their favor and that hasn't stopped us from getting to this point. Specifically because the rigging and the gerrymandering and the seat stealing -works-. I've been saying in the politics thread that, at this point, Republicans aren't even the problem. The problem is Democrats letting Republicans do whatever they want without any consequences, for decades.

A little over a week ago the UPS account at work had a tariff invoice at $700 for 50 lbs of plastic trays, but today it's gone from our account. We only have the usual weekly invoice. Did the email I sent to UPS help? I don't know, they haven't sent back any correspondence besides the email telling me they received my request.

That's how mine panned out. No communication, just a refund one day.

HobbyLink Japan now has added FedEx as a shipping option to the US in addition to DHL. I tried shipping the Mafex Amazing Spider-Man from my private warehouse to see how much they're charging for shipping plus "duties" and "handling" and the total on that $90 figure is $53. Too much!

Amazon Japan shipped the SH Figuarts Yoda I ordered in 2024 yesterday for the same shipping I paid at original checkout. I tried adding another of the same figure to a new cart, and the shipping charge was about what it always is except they have a new charge at checkout described as "import charges." For the ¥7324 Figuarts Yoda the import charges are ¥1429 and ¥3137 shipping for a total of ¥11890 which translates to $78 total, and it looks like the tariff charge is a bit under 20% which is about right since the tariff on Japanese imports is 15%.

I posted how much nin-nin-game is charging a few weeks ago. So far Amazon Japan has the most reasonable tariff pricing. The shipper they used for my Yoda is DHL.
