Worse comes to worse, Figma has their figures for Death Stranding. Only Sam and Cliff so far, but I'd imagine a Higgs is probably pretty likely. Obviously a whole different league price-wise than the Spinmaster figures, but it's something.

Yeah, it's at least something, but hey, if Jin Sakai gets a Figma and a Spinmaster release, I can at least dream of a cheaper Sam in this line lol

IDK how the merchandising rights to DS1 and DS2 works, since its made with Sony but KJP is not owned by Sony like Santa Monica, Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog, etc...
 
Also the Insominiac Spider-Man games would make for some great figures in this line, specially bc the Marvel Legends ones really suck.
 
Are we looking at the same toys? Because I do not think for even the briefest of moments, in my most fevered state, think that anything Spinmaster has done is on the level of the Gameverse Legends stuff - even acknowledging the Gameverse Legends stuff is best described as 'fine.'
 
Don't know what to tell you man, I really enjoy the shapes collection, specially for the price, the articulation is decent and the sculpt and paint are very good. I think Hasbro did a good job with the MvC Gamerverse line but if we're only talking about the Spider-Man PS4/PS5 stuff they made, I really dislike these figures, like, they did the main charachter twice and missed it both times lol.

I mean.... I think there's a difference between 'I like these' and 'these are objectively better than those.' Marvel Legends are almost always good quality figures, they've pretty much nailed down how to handle all their articulation choices, etc etc. The figures of Spider-Man they did largely suffered from inaccuracies. Unfortunate, for sure. But like... Ellie's articulation looks like absolute shit, and Kratos is the same size as Jin. The Spinmaster line is a bit of a fuckin' mess itself. And I say that as someone that -also- likes all the figures I have (Jin, Kratos, and the TLOU set) a fair bit.

I think, if this line had SM figures in it, they'd be kind of mediocre. At the very BEST, they'd be just as bad as the Legends ones, but in a different way (weirder-looking articulation, weird scaling, probably a lot less or less-useful articulation.. etc).

I don't feel like they are medicore tbh, and except for the TLOU 2-pack the articulation doens't look that bad to me. And if you hate the scale on the spinmaster (like Kratos being too close to Jin), you should hate the hasbro stuff even more, every peter they made is so different from one another, like in size and musculature, just compare the black suit and the advanced one, doesn't even look like they're supposed to be the same person.

To be fair, that's just Comics. Different art styles will make the same character look different.
 
I still need to pick up Joel and Ellie. Never saw them or any of this line hit shelves in my area. Seems like a cool selection that could have done okay if customers saw them. I do hope against hope it continues.
 
The only one I've ever seen anywhere is the kid from God of War. My Ross has a crap ton of him but are still asking like $12 for him, which is too much. I've never seen these at Target, Walmart or even Gamestop. If I had found Kratos for less than $20 I certainly would have bought him.

It's a cool set, and once you out then out with their stuff, the articulation choices fall to the wayside.

And even then, I don't think Ellie's crunch is worse than the new Psylocke. Joel's torso is kinda awkward, but he can actually shoulder his rifle or shotgun, and then you don't even see it.

Maybe I got lucky with my paint but I think they look on par with a lot of current hotness.

I thought they were Amazon exclusive. Or they were when they first kicked off. Were they ever in brick stores for the US?

I find them at my local EB now, but I had already gotten them via Bezos.
